State Bar Files Complaint Against Mike Nifong

Raleigh — The North Carolina State Bar has filed an ethics complaint against Duke lacrosse prosecutor Mike Nifong.

I suspect the "complaint", since it was brought by the Bar itself, is a set up. They know exactly what they are going to do. Nifong will get a slap on the wrist, a less that 90 day suspencsion so his reinstatement is automatic.

The telling facts will be wheter he gets to stay on as a prosecutor. In some states ANY sanction by the bar removes him from elected office.

Bar sanctions and enforcement is very selective and incestuous. If Nifong had been a working lawyer, he would have been executed by now.

As far as LW, nothing I can absolutely verify. He wasn't very well liked, I know that much. No doubt Nifong's affinity for LW stemmed from his willingness to do whatever it takes.

Durham is an unusual place (as far as PD and Power struture). Just like the fact that Durham is yelling about Outsiders and how they need to stay out. That's a clear red flag. One woman up for a Judgeship made these very statements just after Nifong won election in November. I've never seen anything like it. It is so very difficult to get information out of so many people. I haven't found that in other places, not to that degree.

I think that closet is stuffed with so many skeletons that the person that opens that door is going to get crushed.

I think that is what many of us hope that a special prosecutor will look into.

I doubt that will actually happen. (I think he will be stripped of his ability to practice law for up to 5 years.) But I do have hope that he will be arrested for his crimes, and taken away in handcuffs -- just like he did to the three Duke players!

They wouldn't have acted unless they had all their votes lined up and knew how it was going to come out.

They are protecting their own butts. They could have done this months ago.

They know something bad is coming down on Nifong and they want to protect their own interests. They don't want to be accused of ignoring his bad behavior.

I've read numerous comments about this while lurking over the past several months. While there is a possibility that it would show something "interesting", its unlikely. People in the DA's office, or politically connected persons, typically the type making a pretty fair salary, are not hiring prostitutes that look like CM or KR. And I don't mean due to their race, but their lack of attractiveness(being nice). And unprotected sex? Not buying it. The source of the DNA is pretty much known - its most likely from the "jobs" she was engaging in right before she showed up at the party(as her driver has stated he took her too, which was linked numerous times in these threads).

It would be something if this "unknown" DNA turned out to implicate some of these scum gabs in the hiring of prostitutes, but I don't think that is very likely.

IMO, the only remaining "bombshell" will be if KR should come out and say Nifong offered her a deal on her other charges if she changed her story.
