CRAWFORD, Texas -- President Bush on Friday sent holiday greetings to all Muslims in America, Iraq and across the world as they celebrate the Eid al-Adha religious festival.
"Eid al-Adha is an important occasion to give thanks for their blessings and to remember Abraham's trust in a loving God," Bush said in a statement released from his Texas ranch, where he is spending the week pondering changes to U.S. policy in Iraq and staying abreast of Saddam Hussein's execution.
Iraq's Shiites will celebrate Eid al-Adha, one of the two most important holidays in Islam, from Dec. 31 to Jan. 4.
"During the four days of this special observance, Muslims honor Abraham's example of sacrifice and devotion to God by celebrating with friends and family, exchanging gifts and greetings, and engaging in worship through sacrifice and charity," he said.
Bush noted the contributions of Muslim U.S. citizens.
"This holiday reminds us of the values that so many of our citizens hold in common, including love of family, gratitude to God, the importance of community and a commitment to respect, diversity, tolerance and religious freedom," Bush said.

He does it every year. I don't like it at all, but I'm not going bananas over it. I guess it's impossible nowadays to be un-PC...
Well said, President Bush, well said.
when will the cult of islam be exposed for what it is ? it is no religion...
"Bush noted the contributions of Muslim U.S. citizens."
Like?
The D.C. snipers???
Perhaps we could show our friendship to the Muslims by providing 2 million hot dogs (not the all beef kind) for the Mecca pilgrims.
Ahh..but Isaac got the blessing from Abraham, not Ismael as the Muslims/Arabs say.
He must be refering to the contributions American Muslims send to Hamas and Hezbollah.
I confess I don't know what else he can do, especially once he started sending these yearly greetings. If he stopped, the press would certainly jump on him, and do their best to stir up the terrorists some more just for a little political gain.
But I don't think it does a damned bit of good. The Muslim vote went very strongly Democrat in this last election, and it put several candidates over the top, including that jackass Webb.
Well I'll never vote for him for President again!
Why does he have to kiss their a$$? Does he send best wishes to Jews, Hindus, Christians, etc.?
"He does it every year. I don't like it at all, but I'm not going bananas over it. I guess it's impossible nowadays to be un-PC..."
Given that the Saudi's invested $1.476 billion through the Bush family and the Carlilse Group, "un-PC" somehow doesn't quite seem to cover it.
Yes he does send best wishes to Jews and Christians. (Not sure about Hindus, though).
good one!!
