I admit it. I do not watch television, except for football on occasion. I don't watch news, I don't watch sitcoms.
My wife watches a LOT of television. Oprah. ET. The Today Show. The last one is what did it for me. When she gets up in the morning, she puts on both televisions, tunes in to the Today Show, and turns the volume up so you can hear it anywhere in the house. So I can't really ignore it. A couple of years ago, they bashed Reagan for three days in a row (As I recall, this was the "Airhead" thing with Katie Couric) On the third day, I finally blew up having to listen to it, and my wife and I had a very rare...um...disagreement. She said that she never makes comments about what I watch, so I should let her watch what she wants. To keep the peace (because I love her dearly) I agreed. And...I just stopped watching television.
Anyway, over the last few days, it seems to me (from listening) that the Today Show is nearly giddy with glee and excitement. I swear they have a laugh track going, and all the stories that I hear seem to be very positive ones, not so gloom and doom as they always seem to be.
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed this?
It's what passes for an orgasm with the deMSMocrats nowadays..
She blasts both TVs at full volume and tunes into the Today Show? Those are fightin' actions! Ever thought of a counterattack?
Since I long ago stopped subjecting myself to the insipid, banal performances on the Today Show, I can not comment on the latest.
I do, however, admit that you have inspired me to be a better husband than I have been to date.
LOL...actually, I think I came out better from that deal. No television? This is a good thing! Now, since I have stopped watching for so long, when I do watch, it seems completely transparent and ridiculous.
Anyway, Happy New Year Pukin Dog!
I haven't watched television since 1994.
Television? I've heard of that.
Well, they are...and Bush hasn't bitchslapped anything or anybody in 6 years. I have no idea what makes you think he's gonna grow a pair of nuts in his lame duck days.
Ain't gonna happen. Pelosi and Harry are indeed in charge. They know it, and Bush knows it.
Oh, they're giddy alright. For me, it's been a full week of Spitzer and Gillibrand photos on the front page of the paper. Like they're rubbing it in our faces.
You should have seen the day after GWB won. Katie wore a black dress with pearls. She had a glum face and looked like she was going to a funeral.
They can't help themselves. They hate the Republican party and conservatives.
Giddy, they are beside themselves. All is going to be right with the world now. The Dems are back in power. I sure you have noticed how great all our inner cities are being run, they have been controlled by Dems for my whole life I think.
I'm 55. Gee, the mayor of New Orleans sure took care of business when he needed to, didn't he? anyone?
heh, great visualization. Can someone post that pic of Katie with her haggy eyes not so perky, and all flabby and teary?
My wife used to do the same thing...blast these damned shows. What got her to stop is when I would arguning back with the host, and would shred them. My wife would complain that the host couldn't hear me (no kidding)... but my wife could. She finally stopped watching them because she couldn't stand listening to me counterattack the premises of the shows she watched.
W never appears to stand up to the constant lies being fed to the public by the MSM and the libs. When David Gregory makes some stupid comment, W should call him on it.
Don't call me a negative nabob, Zoomie, if you don't mind. Slap yourself and look at the facts.
Yes. Definitely.
Here in Minnesota, the local media has been speaking glowingly about the first Moslem member of Congress being from Minnesota AND Minnesota's first female US Senator.
Not surprisingly, they're both Democrats.
OTOH, Minnesota also elected their first female member of Congress.
But she's a Republican.
That sort of fact is usually found way at the bottom of the article or as an after-thought on local news.
