That’s exactly what you are doing, pulling down a conservative to make rudy look good. When Jammer says, “Guess he needs a weatherman to know which way the wind blows” it means that rudy has no convictions and just follows where the crowd takes him. Reagan had convictions and said that the democratic party left him because THEY changed their convictions, if they ever had any. Those two situations are so at odds that to bring them in comparison to each other is ridiculous and an obvious pulldown of Reagan to make rudy look better. People have been getting banned for doing exactly that. So why don’t you just clarify exactly where you’re coming from and if you’re pushing a liberal, gun-grabbing abortionist on this socially conservative forum, why?

I’m going to work during the PRIMARY to get the candidate I feel most represents my views elected.
IF the rest of the party disagrees with me and nominates someone else, I’m not going to have a temper tantrum and stay home next November. I’ll also **NEVER** vote for a liberal democrat. Never. We are at war.
I see the consequences of the temper tantrums last November. People didn’t get their candidate through the primaries and stayed home on election day to “teach the republican party a lesson”.

Here you are admitting that Rush is idealistic to a point. That's not what he has portrayed to his audience for many years. He has preached conservatism as a total package, 5 days a week.
Don't get me wrong. I still like Rush, he is a nice guy and very entertaining. This election is probably the worst challenge that he could have imagined. I will listen on the free side, but I won't pay to hear him talk or push a liberal.

As far as who didn't vote in 2006, it was good strategy by the Democrats to make it look as though social conservatives were responsible for not voting. I believe more fiscals were irritated at the big spending, than social conservatives upset about Foley.
I am confident that we have other options than Rudy. He is a poor choice for this party. Unlike Rudy fans, I would like to have primaries first, so that we all have a voice. The way Rudy is being pushed is irritating and a big turnoff.
