I hope we're not going to measure success by the number of liquor stores! The ease with which ordinary citizens are able to live their day-to-day lives...going to work...going to school...going to the post office....going to buy a loaf of bread...is the key.

The extremists understand only the language of power, and any reluctance or softness on the part of the Iraqi or U.S. government would only embolden them. Yep. If we could just get the liberals to go along. Ha! I know they understand this, but they refuse to agree with it because it would make the USA look good.

This is important news.
I feel the same way I felt when I discovered I could buy beer on Sunday, in Park City or Maize (outside of Wichita).

The new strategy to secure Baghdad has been dubbed by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki as "Operation Imposing the Law." I hope they mean it. If so, it's a great title.

Add some thick cut hickory smoked bacon and I'd call them downright civilized.
