Why is FreeRepublic Running So S-L-O-W?
DCPatriot

For a couple of days now, the site has been crawling. It doesn't matter if I am logged in at my office or home.

My cable internet service is like having dialup.

It's going to be hell for the LIVE American Idol threads..and it was not fun on last night's 24 thread.

I've seen several Freepers point this out yesterday, but no real explanation. And yes, I'm logged in. ;^)

I noticed that, too, but thought it was just my internet connection.

I was noticing that yesterday too. It seems a little better today, but I may just be imagining things.

It's not just FR. The Chinese must be trying out an attack or something.

I've noticed that too, especially when refreshing or posting a comment.

A lot of sites are acting clunky lately. I'm blaming it on the DST format change.

There's been periods where it's been very slow, and not just today, either.

And no, it's not just you.

Yes, it's slow. Is it just FR? I don't know. The 24 thread was hard yesterday, I agree.

It's been slow since the time change, I wonder if the patches for DST have anything at all to do with it?
