GUN REGISTRATION BILL (PA Dems want yearly fee per gun)
WTAJ TV10 News website ^ | 3/28/07 | WTAJ TV10 News Altoona PA

House Bill No. 760 was introduced in the State House of representatives last week.

The bill was introduced by representatives Cruz, Youngblood, Parker, Wheatley, Bennington and Curry.

The legislation calls for every gun in Pennsylvania to be registered with the state, and each registration must be renewed annually. The registration would cost the gun owner $10 per gun each year. The bill also calls for each gun owner to be fingerprinted, have a back ground check, and to submit pass port-style photos for registration cards. The registration card for each gun would then have to be carried with that gun at all times. Any gun that registration is denied for would then be confiscated by the state police.

House Bill No. 760 was referred to a committee last week, and there's no word on when the house would vote on it.

10 NEWS spoke to local sportsmen who are outraged over the proposed legislation. Those sportsmen say they'll contact their local representatives and ask them to fight this bill.

The next step is gun confiscation.

What, a tax on my constitutional right? Which one is next? These are things that cause revolution.

The dems just want to steal them from honest citizens while leaving them (deliberately and with full knowledge) in the hands of criminals.

I had a friend in from New Jersey that was a bit nervous about being in Texas with its firearms. By the time she left she felt safer here than there. :)

PA used to be a gun friendly state...now it is becoming a haven for Left wing nut jobs like Gov Swindell.
I am glad I they cant track me because Gov Swindell might send some of his "friend" to adjust my way of thinking.

Fine. I want every journalist registered. I want to charge them 1 cent a word. I want them fingerpinted, have a background check, and submit to passport style photos.

Hmmmmm, did not we southerners use to have a poll tax that was declared unconstitutional? Although I agree with the ruling about the tax, I still believe little things like reading, speaking English and knowledge of the Constitution, owning property and maybe an age requirement (think 35) should have been maintained.

Anyway, if citizens have to pay for a right, protected by the Constitution, then we really do not have a right, we have a leasehold interest in an action or opportunity of conduct. As usual, the anti-2nd amendment crowd cannot read or appreciate the Constituiton.

Wow! Thanks for the ping!
This is good news - - the bill is DOA in the Senate, of course, even if it ever gets out of the House, but the legislation is tied like an anchor around the neck of the rats. Let's just hope the Republicans have the savvy to make effective use of the opportunity the rats have handed to them on a golden platter.

The bill also calls for each gun owner to be fingerprinted, have a back ground check, and to submit pass port-style photos for registration cards.

Now, if they then made the registration cards a valid ID for voting purposes, they'd be onto something.
