WASHINGTOON (AF) Its a new day in America.
President Bush on Friday signed Executive Order 4-01-07, giving himself and future presidents the unprecedented right to use a presidential subpoena as necessary to investigate corruption and malfeasance in the other two branches of government.
This step is necessary, the president said, because I noticed the courts have a subpoena power and Congress has a subpoena power and I dont have any power. Thats not right.
Karl [Rove] and I got to talking about it and decided to just write ourselves up some law. Everybody knows there is supposed to be checks and balances in our federal government system of government, but when Karl and I checked, there was no balance so we gave ourselves some.

It IS April Fool's day. This is a very funny piece, but also asks some very penetrating questions and tells it like it is in some cases. There isn't much to cheer us up in the news lately.

Well, the Democrats in the legislative branch are already trying to run the executive, so why not go all the way in blurring the lines? In addition to subpoena power, Bush and Rove should also enact a law giving the White House the power to try the case and jail the guilty. And let's give the Supreme Court the power to enact new laws and execute them (oops, I forgot, they're already doing that).

"Buffoonery in D.C."Usually buffoonery comes from Congress and we're used to that.

"We are shocked that the business of the country has been handled as some kind of cheap partisan parlor game." Truth in satire.
