Misleading article. It costs the same to refine here as anywhere else, I’d bet most of what they pay is taxes. And, considering their self-righteous sanctimony about environmentalism, apparently they love high gas taxes.

well good for them. Those screaming "global warming" the loudest should pay more. Obviously however, it isn't expensive enough for that woman, nor is the enviroment a concern. She just polluted a lake and killed some animals (bugs)

” Motorists around the world have been paying more for their gasoline over the past month as falling U.S. stocks of the motor fuel have helped to drive up global oil prices. “ figures, blame the US for all their ills instead of looking in the mirror and see were the real problem is.

This is actually an article to take up some space and keep those journalism paychecks coming on a semi-regular basis.

If you live in England or Norway, you ain’t got anywhere to go anyway, so who cares how much gas costs?

“Britons pay $8.37!”
Thanks to the exchange rate, though, that is only 20 pence.

To put this in perspective, the average monthly salary in Russia is 11,000 rubles, or $426. To fill up the 32-gallon tank of a 2006 Hummer H2 in Moscow would cost $88 -- more than 20 percent of a Russian's take-home pay. There. Made the article a little more informative.

For heavens sake...the European costs are almost entirely taxes. Get rid of the government greed and you have solved the gas price ‘crisis’

Just another example of why its better to live here than in old Europe. Or new Europe. Or anywhere else, come to think of it.
