Best Illegal Immigration Action Site Ever
NumbersUSA ^ | 5/1/2007 | EMat

This is absolutely the best political action site I have ever seen—ever:

http://www.numbersusa.com

First, they make it very simple to contact your representatives in government. Based on where you live, they give phone numbers, action items, what to say to your particular representatives. They have prepared faxes to send, that they will send for you for free. They make political action almost fun and make every other political action group seem annoying. Check it out:

http://www.numbersusa.com/actionbuffet

Second, they have best collection of resources and arguments on the issue. Even online videos:

http://www.numbersusa.com/about/tvandvideo.html

I like this presentation especially:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4094926727128068265&q=numbersusa&hl=en

Although many of the arguments fret convincingly about population and environment (which should appeal to liberals at least), there are arguments that can appeal to just about anyone's special interest:

Ethics & Religion: http://www.numbersusa.com/about/ethics.html
America's Jobless: http://www.numbersusa.com/interests/jobless.html
American Workers: http://www.numbersusa.com/interests/amerworkers.html

Unions: http://www.numbersusa.com/interests/unions.html
Urban Sprawl: http://www.numbersusa.com/interests/urbansprawl.html
Smart Business Practices: http://www.smartbusinesspractices.com/

If only all political action could be this well organized.

The fax they prepared below took me about two minutes to send only because I read it and added my own two cents in the P.S.

Mr. EMat

555 Right Way, San Jose, CA 95111

408-555-4933

Rep. Zoe Lofgren 102 Cannon, United States House of Representatives Washington, DC 20515

Dear Representative Lofgren:

Do not be swayed by today's illegal alien rallies. Americans still overwhelmingly favor the attrition through enforcement approach to illegal immigration that the House adopted last year.

One of the biggest obstacles to tackling the illegal alien problem is that is that too many leaders think illegal immigration is a victimless crime.

In reactions to and coverage of these protests, you will hear phrases like "good-hearted people" and "courageous people" to describe illegal aliens.

But most illegal aliens are like burglars who break into our homes without weapons or any intent to do us bodily harm; they are just breaking the law to take material things from us. No matter how good they are to their children or what civic positions they may otherwise hold, we do not call these burglars good-hearted and courageous. We prosecute them and do our best to keep them from stealing from us again.

Most illegal aliens are like those burglars. They aren't professional criminals and they don't intend us harm, but they are wage thieves nonetheless. They break the law to steal jobs to which they are not entitled and in the process depress wages of millions of other American workers.

They steal wages from American workers and steal taxes from the American taxpayers who must subsidize the social and physical infrastructure for these mostly low-wage workers. A new study from the Heritage Foundation finds that the average household headed by an illegal alien without a high school degree is costing American taxpayers a net subsidy of \$18,000 every year. Most illegal aliens lack a high school degree.

Please do not be swayed by these protests and demonstrations. I hope you will show the political will to work with your colleagues in the House to pass an Attrition Through Enforcement bill during this Congress.

Phone me if you would like to talk about this,

Mr. [Emat]

P.S. Not only do illegal immigrants steal from our citizens, they steal from the citizens of their native countries, who try to enter this country in a safe, legal, and documented process. By rewarding illegal entry we encourage lawlessness in our country and in the countries where they originate. Even if you believe we need immigrant workers, then please get us law abiding ones and send the rest of them to the back of the line.

NumbersUSA is my favorite from a user’s perspective,
but does anybody know which anti-illegal immigration political action group is actually having the most effect?

None. Not one. Nada. All have no effect whatsoever. Makes you feel good, does nothing to stem the tide.

I’m been getting them, and sending them. You can write your own, if you do not like the ones they send you.

It’s important RIGHT NOW to let the Senate know where YOU stand.

This is absolutely the best political action site I have ever seen—ever:

Aren't they an offshoot of the radical liberal population control nuts?

Yes, I think they are. Eugenics, white pride, abortion, sterilization, and jingoism. Oh I'm sure they don't sell it that way. It's convenient to take advantage of the illegal immigration problem to push their brand of radical liberalism -- but that's where it comes from.

Not what I would call a great site.

FAIR has also been criticized for its past connection with the Pioneer Fund. Between 1982 and 1994, FAIR received $1.2 million from the foundation,[9] which has been described by a Wall Street Journal editorial as a "white-supremacist outfit devoted to racial purity through eugenics."[10]

NumbersUSA's position is that the United States has become overpopulated due to high levels of immigration caused by the Hart-Celler Act of 1965. Without increased immigration since 1970, America would currently have achieved zero population growth or even a net population reduction.

Radical liberal ZPG / overpopulation crowd, closely linked to environmental extremists.

Farthest thing possible from conservatism.

Wow! Thanks for the excellent sites!

Hey! Maybe you will know the answer. Which is the official Minuteman Website?

Is Raymond Herrera still part of the official minuteman project? Or is that a different one?

By the way, I like what Fred Thompson has to say on this issue

Maybe you should stop relying on wikipedia for your information. At some point all the anti illegal immigrant groups are accused of racism.

About FAIR
The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is a national, nonprofit, public-interest, membership organization of concerned citizens who share a common belief that our nation’s immigration policies must be reformed to serve the national interest.

FAIR seeks to improve border security, to stop illegal immigration, and to promote immigration levels consistent with the national interest—more traditional rates of about 300,000 a year.

With more than 250,000 members and supporters nationwide, FAIR is a non-partisan group whose membership runs the gamut from liberal to conservative. Our grassroots networks help concerned citizens use their voices to speak up for effective, sensible immigration policies that work for America’s best interests.

FAIR’s publications and research are used by academics and government officials in preparing new legislation.National and international media regularly turn to us to understand the latest immigration developments and to shed light on this complex subject.FAIR has been called to testify on immigration bills before Congress more than any organization in America.

Maybe you should stop relying on wikipedia for your information.

It's simply a convenient site. Obviously it references information found elsewhere.

It is a fact that these groups were formed out of radical liberal population control ideology and continue to share the goals of radical environmentalists and eugenicists.

They usually admit their tied to environmentalism up front.

And yes, of COURSE they're going to SAY they're not racist or anti-human, but that's the gist of it, they're part of the post-modern Zero Population Growth movement.

They're anti-IMMIGRANT because they don't want population increasing; illegality is a secondary thing for them.

Based on what you gave me, I might be more hesitant to give them a donation (I might be thankful for that), but I stand by original statement: “This is absolutely the best political action site I have ever seen—ever!”

At the very least, it is a great example of what a political action site should provide: It has all the information I would be interested in for my self or for others, liberal or conservative, and it puts us in quick contact with our government. So there.

As for your other alarmist reactions: “Aren’t they an offshoot of the radical liberal population control nuts? Yes, I think they are. Eugenics, white pride, abortion, sterilization, and jingoism. Oh I’m sure they don’t sell it that way. It’s convenient to take advantage of the illegal immigration problem to push their brand of radical liberalism — but that’s where it comes from.”

I didn’t see any of that on their site. Did you?
In fact, from what I’ve read and seen, they are comfortable with America having a stable population which it can maintain on its own with only a little help from legal immigration. (Personally I recommend a lot less abortions instead). The site’s only concern for population control is immigration control. The fact of the matter is that the site remains focused on a single topic that should concern us all no matter what our other political and moral concerns are: illegal immigration.

Most of us don’t have much choice right now other than to speak out to a democrat representative to end illegal immigration, so if I’m willing to do that, then it wouldn’t kill me to stand next to a few “radical liberal population control nuts” (if that’s what they are) to at least make a point on that one issue. Mixing and confusing important popular issues with other issues and party politics is a leftist trick that you’d do well to avoid, and the NumberUSA site does do that well.

As for wiki and Right Web’s criticism: The over use of the loaded term “restrictionist” stinks of the phony McCainian excuses republicans have had for not protecting its citizens. “Restrictionist” of who? Their big-business buddies who want cheap labor at citizens’ expense?
