The Riverside County Sheriff's Department, the Imperial County Sheriff's Department and the Border Patrol have confirmed that deputies have found a dead Border Patrol K-9 agent near the Salton Sea.
Border Patrol agents responded to a call of a missing agent around 11 AM Friday morning and began searching the Coachella Canal around noon.
The body of the agent - who remains unidentified -- was found in that canal and appeared to have drowned.
Sheriff's Investigators from the Imperial County Sheriff's Department and Border Patrol agents remain on scene investigating.
Authorities say they found the body at Mineral Spa Road near Niland
Deputies say they found the person's dog running around in the area, but, then, later discovered the person's vehicle and body.
Deputies believe the person's death was caused by drowning, and they believe the person was on duty.
Sheriff's Investigators from the Imperial County Sheriff's Department and Border Patrol agents remain on scene investigating.
If you have any information on this case, you can call the Imperial County Sheriff's Department at 1-800-452-2051.
I wonder if he accidently drowned or if he was drowned with help....
Agreed in prayer.
Ping.
Did you notice how they kept saying “person”. Kind of leaves the door open that it might be a woman.
Do they have women border patrol?
I’m to the point I feel the BP should shoot first and let God sort ‘em out.... Enough is enough.
The Lord bless his soul and prayers for his family.

“Surrender is Not an Option”
On Thursday, May 17th at 10:30 AM Pacific Time, we will be conducting “Surrender is Not an Option” protest rallies outside of Speaker Pelosi’s San Francisco office ( 450 Golden Gate Ave. 14th Floor - San Francisco) and Senator Reidâs Las Vegas office (CLICK HERE for LOCATION).
We’re sick and tired of watching Congressional leaders like Pelosi and Reid deliberately undermining support for the missions of our troops serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom & Operation Enduring Freedom. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
We are asking all of our members and supporters and the general public to show up for these mass rallies. Please bring a “white flag” as a symbol to show our disgust with the “Surrender” policies being advocated by Congress against our troops.
If you cannot make it to San Francisco or Las Vegas on May 17th for these giant rallies, then please send a protest “surrender” feather and post card package to the offices of Pelosi & Reid. CLICK HERE to SEND “NO SURRENDER” PACKAGE.
We’re proud to support Michelle Malkin and many other bloggers in the “White Feather” campaign - MORE INFO HERE.
This couldn't possibly have been a murder by an illegal. They are here strictly for the American Dream. Any bad behavior on their part is instantly learned once they step foot on our soil because America takes away the good Catholic teachings that the illegals were taught. (sarc
What the?
Border Patrolmen should not be sent out alone anymore.. 1 Patrolmen 1 National Guardsmen with a M16 and the right to self defense.
Maybe just an accident maybe not but darn it they deserve better.
Prayers

Nope. Sorry, not allowed.
Say ThankYou Mr. President, may I have another?
No M-16 that is... The guardsman is more than welcome to be a moving target.
Always heard never swim alone.
“Assisted drowning”?
Sympathies to the agent’s family, friends, fellows...
This death, courtesy of the United States’ excuse of a government.
Was it an accident?
Was it murder?
I will opt for the murder idea. The murderer will gain all that America offers and never be caught.
Latest news:
Bush’s “Justice Department” is going to indict the dead body of the agent for environmental pollution and failing to render honor to the Mexican flag when it was run past his dead body as future American citizens from Mexico trampled his body.
Since he is dead, his wife and 5 year old son will be incarcerated in Federal prison in Texas where they will be “released” into the general prison population.
Viva El Presidente Jorge Bush!
If the family has the means they had better get legal help to have an independent autopsy performed if they want to know the truth.
It is an aggressive act of force and violence, and should be responded to as such. I didn't like the BP shooting that guy in the back not long ago ... but when you put it in context ... the guy was ATTACKING us.
Just because he turned and ran didn't mean he wasn't still ATTACKING us .
Do soldiers stop shooting if the enemy starts to pull back?
The BP shouldn't have been put in a position where they thought they had to lie to cover their ass. They shouldn't have been prosecuted .
You'd have a hard time drowning in the Coachella canal. It is a welcome relief to take a dip when it's hot but unless the agent had a heart attack, I'm thinking foul play. And not necessarily from illegals.
Niland is roughly fifty miles from the border. Temperatures regularly surpass 110 degrees in the summer. It is a hot spot (literally) for "coyotes." It's very desolate and there is a huge Marine Corps aerial gunnery range that borders the East side of the Coachella canal.
Sadly you find dead illegals (always young or old)because smugglers abandoned them. They're in the middle of nowhere and they have no idea where to go. This is usually preceded by robbery and sometimes rape.
One summer we found a teenage girl who had been abandoned. She was suffering from heat stroke. Unfortunately our medical personell couldn't save her.
Prayers and sympathy for this agent's family.
From the link...
Kim also told broadcast reporters that there had been past incidents where agents on patrol had fallen into the canal.
Did they all end up dead?
"Bush's Fault"TM
Prayers up for the guy's family!
