Former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson was a speaker at the convention so this loss on his home turf to an undeclared candidate has to sting.

And Brownback was lucky he got any votes at all, dissing Brett Favre in favor of Peyton Manning in Packer country.
Any politician knows to praise the local team and local hero. Brownback is a bigger goofball than I thought, and I always thought he was a big one.

I really want to hear and understand his platform. I hear he's a conservative, but then some FReepers suggested he was "John McCain's severed siamese twin" (mine, just to summarize some of the things being posted.) We need to start doing some fact finding to rebute these things.
That and I truly hope Fred is all that he appears to be.
I think it would be wise for those good at such things to pull as much of his previous history on legislation as possible so we know if Fred is truly "our guy".
