Washington, D.C. – The U.S. House of Representatives this morning voted to withhold federal emergency services funding for "sanctuary cities" that protect illegal immigrants.

Anti-immmigration champion Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., sponsored the measure, which he says would apply to cities such as Denver and Boulder. He was elated by its passage, which stunned critics and supporters alike.

“Tancredo didn’t vote on his own bill? And Sessions didn’t either?”

This is a parliamentary procedure that gives them certain freedoms to act later, I believe.

The sad thing is that if we successfully Kill Bill, they get to retain the status quo ante which is unacceptable. But then after the last election I guess we knew the next step was going to be “Repel Boarders.”

It's imperative that we elect an American President and an American Congress in the next election. The Senate is dominated by globalists and Bush is a globalist President. Our last American President was Reagan.

My reply to the RNC fundraiser that just showed up in my mailbox trying to raise cash off of Senator Reed’s latest insult of the troops.

“Speaking of understanding that there are “some lines you just don’t cross” has anyone at the RNC considered that the party leadership basically calling the conservative base bigots and racists for opposing the Bush / Kennedy Amnesty Bill, may be one of those lines.

As a veteran of the war, I would be more offended at Senator Reed’s remarks if I weren’t so focused on the war that the RNC has declared on the conservative base. I have recently written letters to my Senators, but the subject has been amnesty and not Senator Reed’s latest insult.

You might have better luck sending out fundraising e-mails if you can get your hands on the “La Razza” mailing list. I understand that racist / separatist group is, for the moment, a big fan.”

Okay folks. I have just about made up my mind to go with Tancrado.

He is the one who has been carrying the banner for us. Rather than talking about it, he is doing something about it and has been for several years.

This amendment only applies to the 1996 Immigration Act

Status: On agreeing to the Tancredo amendment (A045) Agreed to by recorded vote: 234 - 189 (Roll no. 485).

And in another ammedment, he sponsored, to make sure any funds from this bill do not go towards the visa waiver program failed.

42. H.AMDT.292 to H.R.2638 An amendment to prohibit funds of this Act to carry out the visa waiver program. Sponsor: Rep Tancredo, Thomas G. he House is more partisan in general, but is far better on mainstream issues.

This issue is that every member of the house comes up for reelection in 2008, whereas 2/3 of the senate can duck the voters and rely on amnesia about a political crime they committed 4 years ago, the controversy over which they will count on being so over by then.

“Holy crap. 50 democrats. Hopefully this is an indicator of how the House will vote on Bush’s Immigration bill.”

Now, how many of those Democrats are blue dogs? The DNC may have opened Pandoras box and has no clue how to close it.

Just proves a point - we must take whatever wins we can get to move our agenda forward an inch at a time. In the midst of all being against us, Tancredo submits something with no chance of even being considered and - he wins.

Now, where is the next inch going to come from. Watch out you democrats we are playing your game - move forward in any direction you can, ignore the losses, and keep on going.

He’ll never be POTUS, but he’s a good man.
I don't understand why he hasn't caught fire among Republicans.

Did this story even make the papers in the sanctuary cities?

I’m not seeing a mention of it on the front page at the Miami Herald or Denver Post websites. It’s interesting why they feel the need for a news blackout on this one. The cities declared war on the US and the US finally took up the offer yesterday.

Tancredo gets posted in breaking news, and through a series of unfortunate events (I thought my son had the flash drive where I keep the ping list when I left for work Friday morning) I'm not able to post. Then, of course, I get home and the internet is down.

File this Tancredo ping for anyone who hasn't seen it yet under "Better late than never!"

On Illegal Immigration:
The bill's authors "seem to think that they can dupe the American public into accepting a blanket amnesty if they just call it 'comprehensive' or 'earned legalization' or 'regularization,' " said Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., a presidential candidate and strong opponent of illegal immigration. "The president is so desperate for a legacy and a domestic-policy win that he is willing to sell out the American people and our national security."
