Other countries hate us, not because of Iraq, but because we’re successful in every way. They hated the US way before Iraq and before Bush was President. Our economy, our military, our freedoms/way of life, our success causes hatred.
I worry more about our Country being defeated from within than outside influences or forces.

By and large I agree with both of your points. Nor do I blame Bush for doing something that needed to be done sooner or later. In fact, my point is that if he did not deviate from this cowboy style foreign policy we would all have been much safer. Wishy washy policies make other countries panic because of the unknowns.
It is no different with the stock market on volatile stock. Investors buy or sell in panic waves. It’s all human nature. Countries seeing the wishy-washy will tend to overreact and this is case their is mound of empirical global data to show that is exactly their sentiment toward the USA as a whole based on wishy-washy policy. The sentiment numbers skewed low after the invasion of Iraq but dropped preciptiously after two years on the ground there.
I don’t give a pass to enemies that always maintained hostile sentiment towards us such as North Korea, Iran, Syria, Venezuala, Cuba, Russia or China. These nations must be dealt with and we must stop appeasing them and take our lumps now before we are forced to fight them with our nuclear arsenal.
