The proposed EU constitution met with defeat in 2005. As predicted (see link in article to left) supporters found a way around the democratic process. They have reintroduced a barely modified version as a treaty to avoid public referenda.
Sounds like what our politicians are doing here. Except they don't even use treaties (requires 2/3 vote). They use 'agreements'. Like the SPP. and CAFTA , NAFTA etc.
