"After he left the production line and began praying, Mohamed said, supervisors took his prayer mat, pulled him up by his collar and sent him crying to a lead supervisor, who fired him."

Excellent! This is of course, pure B.S. Follow one of these muzzies around on his day off, and i'll bet he doesn't stop what ever he's doing and pray at sunset. besides, he's not supposed to pray untill AFTER the sun has set completely, and there is no exact moment that this prayer should be, as long as it is AFTER the sun has set completely. If they pray when the sun is not completely set, they are praying to Satan(they are praying to Satan anyway)because Islamic silly nonsensical scripture says the sun sets on both sides of Satans head.??

But yet they’re OK working with non-Halal meat all day.

A Mohammedan can violate all sorts of religious rules just as long as they're committed to eventually dying in jihad because that gets them their get out of jail free card.

The law in this area sets a standard of "reasonable accommodation."

Example - if a worker wants to take Saturday off due to Sabbath observance, and it can be arranged with other workers to have cover that day, that is a reasonable accommodation. However, worker can be fired if "reasonable accommodation" cannot be met (Example, work schedules cannot be changed so as to honor the Sabbath-off request).

Given that standard, I think Swift will win. Mandating that 70 workers can be off the line for ten minutes at one time (and not a set time given that sunset changes every night) is just not reasonable. Swift surely consulted with their lawyers before they took this action.

When I was in-house counsel for a phone company, we had a female network worker who got religion (fundamentalist Christian) and refused to wear pants. Due to safety rules, the company would not let her climb poles in a dress/skirt, meaning she would be moved to a lower paying job. She sued for religious discrimination and lost due to the reasonable accommodation rule.

I also had a case as a phone company lawyer involving Somalians. They were a group of them living in an apartment, running up huge bills calling Somalia and not paying the bill (mysteriously, according to the residents the guys who made the calls had always just left for Somalia).

When we cut off the phone service a local hack lawyer threatened to sue for racial discrimination. I told him the only color I cared about was green. No lawsuit ever materialized and eventually they paid the bill.

"They knew up front that they would be working during prayers and spreading their carpet in a food handling area has to be a violation of sanitation codes if not OSHA. If they don’t like working during prayer time get another job that doesn’t interfere or better still move to some Muslim country."

Funny how they seem to be able to work with pork. According to the Kooky Koran, even looking at pork, a live pig, a picture of a pig is a serious no-no! In fact didn't Muzzies complain in Florida about people eating ham sandwiches in a lunchroom shared by Muzzie workers? Wasn't there another muzzie business that tried to ban an employee from having a ham sandwich in their lunchbag on the premises?

Muzzies aren't here to adapt and live in peacwe in the western world, they are here to convert it to an Islamic hell hole and do away with "man made law" and install Sharia law, just as CAIR stated in a statement around 1998. Islam should be BANNED in this country. It's nothing but a war manual filled with HATE for all who are not muslim, which is supposed to be against the law here.

Disgusting that these people get all upset over this sort of thing but are very happy to put on a bomb belt and blow up some infidels.

they are just implementing their next stage: force everyone around them to adopt to a Sharia environment, rather than them having to deal with a non-Sharia environment

What in hell are these people doing in our country anyhow? What idiot let them in and why?

If they don't want to be Americans, they should go back to Somalia, where they can pray, rape and murder for Allah with impunity.

These people will never assimilate in a Western Culture - which is why they are tring to change it into a replica of their culture!

"I would never forgive myself and God would not forgive me if I do not pray on time because I want to earn some money," he said.

The workers should try following the teachings of Jesus Christ, who is the Author of forgiveness and a clean spirit. They would feel so much better.

Doesn’t the time of day for prayers change on a daily basis anyway? Jeez louise, how is a production line supposed to staffed around that? If Christians can work on the Sabbath, then these guys can man the lines. If they’d rather not miss prayers, they can find another line of work.

I personally have no problem with allowing prayer breaks, as employers allow bathroom breaks, lunch breaks and particularly, smoke breaks (seems like the smokers are constantly on break when I try to run the gauntlet of cigarette smoke into my building)!

Catholics used to pray the Angelus at noon (some still do ) and prayers for the Liturgy of the Hours, I’d appreciate a little time to do so as a Catholic, I suppose these guys should be able to schedule their breaks accordingly as well....

"Put him on the pork line.

They'd have to be at one time or another. At a packing plant, you cut whatever comes down the coveyor line. that line moves pretty quick too, the supervisor turns up the speed as fast as he can get the workers to work. If someone walks off the line suddenly, a lot of meat goes off the end of the belt before someone stops it, and if that one stops, the other one feeding it is still running, making a pile up, then stuff falls on the floor, which is waste (well not really, they hose it off and sneak it back on).

One of my kids worked at a packing plant. There were some Muzzies on the line, and they didn't get any special considerations when they were doing pork runs.

Mind you, they weren't of the Somoli variety, who seem to go out of their way to force their cult on this country. Why the government allowed 12,000 uneducated, fundamentalist somoli muzzies all at once into this country I'll never know. What were they thinking?

"I told him, 'Look, I know I am in America and I know in America there is a freedom of religion for everybody to practice their religion. . . .

"And he said, 'No, that's not acceptable — your prayers are not acceptable here. You're here to work, not pray.'"

Let me share something from my own work experience, dealing with similar problem. I am a Roman Catholic, and one of the "rules" for Roman Catholics is that we have to attend Mass on Sunday, or Vigil Mass on Saturday evening (normally at 5pm). My office has 4 teams that work 7 -7 (2 day-shift and 2 night-shift). Each team, once every two months, has to work Saturday and Sunday together one weekend. If I was on day-shift, this would mean I could not go to Mass that week.

I could not get someone with my skill set (3 other people) from the other day-shift, to cover for me every time. I spoke to my supervisor and asked if I could take all my breaks together and go to Mass -- no I would be gone too long, and we need people on site. I asked if I could take 2 hours of vacation on those weekends -- no some of those days already have people scheduled off and no one else can be spared. These are legitimate work concerns of my employer, not my employer's attempt to stop me from going to church or persecute me for being Catholic.

I transfered to night shift. I know the article said that second shift was popular with many of these men, however you have to choose who you will serve God or convenience.
