The Taliban itself was not an active participant though they protected Osama Bin Laden just like our ally Pakistan is now.

What?!

We should bring our troops home from Japan. Britain too. Japan is a very rich country. They have nothing to fear from anyone. The only think Britain and France need to worry about is Islam. They got themselves into this mess due to their radical immigration policies. Both have imported all these Muslims. There’s a good article floating around today about what Churchill thought about immigration. Laura Ingraham mentioned it. Look for it.

Well you know, if we arm the border patrol with those magic lasers built by the Illuminati, they can stop a missile, a plane or any Rigelians that attack us...

Never trust a man that wears both suspenders and a belt...and never trust a man that flits between political parties based on ‘mood’ as this clown has done for two or more decades.

HE: Congressman, though… But what I am not clear on, and forgive me for persevering, but what I’m not at all clear on… not at all, is what you would do, how you view this war. What is the war? Do we even have a war? And if we’re going to have a war, if we’re in one, how do you win it?

Ron Paul's answers are so confusing that even the questioner, who appears to like him, can't even figure out what he means.

Newt Gingrich just said the war is phony.

Newt Gingrich also holds global warming conferences with John Kerry. He's also got about as much chance of winning the nomination as RP.

“Mr. Paul, what to you have to say about Mr. Adams call for a revolt against the crown?”

“Well gentlemen, I find such action troubling. I believe we ourselves have created this unbearable situation. If perhaps we had produced more goods King George would be more inclined to acquiesce to our needs. Indeed the whole Boston tea party fiasco did nothing to endear us to his majesty. Maybe as a better response to the tax, we should have reduced our tea usage, I also…”

“Mr. Jefferson!”

“Yes Mr. Adams?” “Your cane please!”

Ron Paul is a good man, in my view, but he simply attempts to cram reality into his chosen construct. It just doesn’t fit.

Idiots mock, but this guy is telling the truth.

The house of cards is as precarious as it has ever been and these decerebrate protosimians keep flooding the threads screeching "peace and safety" and mocking the one guy who is willing to stand up and tell the truth: which is "WE CAN'T AFFFORD TO POLICE THE WORLD."

We are bankrupting ourselves waving about hysterical threats from a bunch of sand monkeys.

I have become convinced that we probably WILL recede from the leader of the free world, but when/if the islamofascists do come it won't be because of people like Ron Paul. It will be because we have insisted on throwing military might willy-nilly at every halfassed muslim loon with an AK47 and a koran, and then bawling out about the need for patriotism and strength when they engage us in guerilla warfare. We keep this stupid lunacy for foreign policy going and we will bleed ourselves so dry that we will not have the resources to fight when the time really comes.

One thing good about it, though. We won't have the streams of Mexicans coming across the border. We are going to wind up so damn broke that Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador etc are going to have stronger economies than we are.

I get so exasperatingly sick of the halfwit fascists who pose as conservatives I could just scream. They have sold out EVERY major tenet of what used to be conservatism for some dream of military domination of the world....., or if it is NOT military domination of the world, please explain what havig troops in over 100 countries all over the world is.

I am glad he is in the race. He expresses some ideas that many may have never heard, and they have an honorble place in our toolbox. His presentation is not very appealing, though.

Thank you for the ping.

The hatred, bile, and spam on this thread is palpable already. I don’t know why the baiters and shills are so threatened by someone they say has no chance.

What truth? It is difficult to understand what Ron Paul would do to ensure American security. Guard the borders. No pre-emptive strikes. Congressman Paul, while a good man and a Christian, is shackled by his own ideology. He simply cannot be trusted to defend America in the modern era. His interview here with Human Events was at times very unclear. He seemed unable to answer questions directly, and kept returning to Iraq, over and over again. Paul could not truly enunciate an answer on whether he would ever engage in pre-emptive war. His war on terror would consist of guarding our borders and, apparently, nothing else. Al-Qaeda might be gathering strength for an attack, but Ron Paul would sit serenely behind Fortress America, secure in his ideological assumptions right up until the moment al-Qaeda attacks. And if our allies who have depended on us for decades run into trouble...well, that is their problem.

Paul’s fundamental assumption is that American power projected around the world is evil. I see it differently, as a needed balance to the ambitions of expansionist dictators.

Are you serious? Japan, North Korea and China are at logger heads and have been for the last 70 years. Their would have been a war long ago if not for our troops on the DMZ. If you want to say you don't care, fine, but you can't logically say that Japan has nothing to fear, because that just isn't so.
