No, Reagan was a long time president of the Screen Actor’s Guild, and he was governor of California for several terms before running for the presidency. Also Ronald Reagan was Ronald Reagan, and Fred Thompson is no Ronald Reagan.

I’m not voting for him but I always get a kick out of seeing Thompson in any movie because he always plays the “generic hardass” role, and he plays it well.
