A New Strain of Anti-Semitism is Spreading

Who recently said: "These Jews started 19 Crusades. The 19th was World War (1). Why? Only to build Israel."

Some holdover Nazi?

Hardly. It was former Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan of Turkey, a NATO ally. He went on to claim that the Jews -- whom he refers to as "bacteria" -- controlled China, India and Japan, and ran the United States.

Who alleged: "The Arabs who were involved in 9/11 cooperated with the Zionists, actually. It was a cooperation. They gave them the perfect excuse to denounce all Arabs."

A conspiracy nut?

Actually, it was former Democratic U.S. Sen. James Abourezk of South Dakota. He denounced Israel on a Hezbollah-owned television station, adding: "I marveled at the Hezbollah resistance to Israel. . . . It was a marvel of organization, of courage and bravery."

And finally, who claimed at a United Nations-sponsored conference that democratic Israel was "much worse" than the former apartheid South Africa, and that it "undermines the international community's reaction to global warming"? A radical environmentalist wacko?

Again, no. It was Clare Short, a member of the British parliament. She was a secretary for international development under Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Do not misread my post I do not blame the victim.

Israel is smart and disciplined enough to win over the Arabs. I do not imply the world needs another pseudo peace treaty between Arabs and Jews.

I think Israel needs to look within for the answer to its problems with the Arabs.

For those who claim that we need to find a political solution, not a military one in Iraq, I'd like to point them to the current situation in Israel. It's a direct result of political solutions, since Israel has never been allowed to finish winning wars it didn't start. Once it became apparent that Israel was winning, either the UN or a superpower would step in to keep Israel from completely defeating her enemies. I'm affraid that the only way we're going to see peace between Israel and the arab/muslim countries will be through war where either Israel defeats her enemies to the point that they're no longer able to wage war, or Israel is destroyed. THAT'S the only way to achieve peace.

Our society is becoming unstable. I don’t know how much longer they will be able to count on the United States for help.

Robert Heinlein stated the symptoms of a sick or dying society... The current US society is showing those signs he predicted as a dying society... Unfortunately, migrating off-planet just isn't an option at this time.

Let's take your example of Kansas city. You are suggesting that the founders, creators and the majority of club members are and were republican. However James Pendergast and Tom Pendergast behind most of the build up of KC including the KC country club were democrats. It was a democrat strong hold town that called Harry Truman it's own. How again are republicans responsible?

Republicans have a bum rap for being racist and intolerant of religion. While I am sure that there are republican racists history has shown that Democrats are more so.

I don't know if Israel is able to win a war anymore. I have complete confidence in the IDF, however I don't believe that Israel's political leaders, or the huge number of liberals who have flooded the country over the last 25 years or so (like my cousins) would be capable of supporting all out war.

A strong leader like Churchill could marshal all of Great Britain behind him, to hold off what was, at that time, one of the greatest, if not THE greatest war machine the world had ever seen. Imagine what the outcome of WWII might have been had Chamberlain NOT been replaced, or some other weaker PM had been in place. Israel doesn't have a Golda Meir or David Ben Gurion. Instead they've got Olmert. Maybe Bibi could rally the people for a victory, but he's got so much baggage, and more importantly, the leftists within Israel may actually prefer to see Israel lose a war than give Bibi a victory. The scary thing is that they don't seem to realize that if Israel loses, there's going to be a slaughter of innocent civilians similar to what's been going on in Rwanda and Darfur. The leftists can't seem to understand that when an enemy says he's going to kill you, that he might actually mean it and carry out the act.

Remember that MO was a confederate state (sort of ... Don’t get me started on that). Also, remember that in the South, democrats were exactly as you describe. However, in the North East, the republicans acted more like the southern dems, while the dems in those areas tended to be far more liberal.

And Jews settled primarily in the North East.

They didn't call them 'Country Club' Republicans for nothing!

It's not just a question of how much water has gone over the dam since the last time it ever made sense for Jews to vote for dems, but how fast the water is flowing as it goes over the dam. The flow rate is increasing geometrically with time.

The harm which the dem party and its policies does to Jews and to Israel is increasing fasg enough that if something doesn't happen soon, it may be irreparable. Israel itself could be lost.

And don’t forget that Goldwater’s economic advisor was Milton Friedman-very conservative-actually liberal in the European sense.

Actually libertarian in the American sense; by his own admittance.

I still don’t understand what it is always “the Jews”. Why not the Lutherans?

It's kinda hard to fault people who's sole enjoyment is drinking beer and eating Lutefisk. And don't contradict me; I'm a German Lutheran.

The party of Lincoln, the party of civil rights, has always been the Republican party.

But most Americans don’t know that. Why?

But Republicans are hopelessly tone deaf, pious and naive, and have always been out-maneuvered by the devious Libs. The Libs are revisionist, and shamelessly co-opt any achievements or accomplishments of Republicans, who wilt without a whimper.

Weasels are the Liberals.

I say - let them die like weasels.

Jews are largely “urban bourgeois” i.e. natural liberals, outside of the ultraorthodox.

And the Jewish voted 74 to 25 in favor of Kerry over Bush. Jews have only themselves to blame. They do, they're ignorant, those Jews.

It's all Kerry's fault.

Clare Short and James Abourezk are both hard core libs. Jews vote for libs all over the world it is really odd to me why Jewish people keep voting for people that don’t like them because of their religion.

Yes, they should vote for the party of Chuck Percy, Paul Findlay and James Baker.

Those stupid Jews.

The Jewish vote PROVES conclusively they are monolithic in their politics. Of course, not as much as the Black vote, but close enough. And just like the Blacks, their votes for Socialist government help to sustain their second-class position in society. It is good for Black politicians to serve a purpose and in their interest for their constituents to be whining, helpless victims.

Nice to see you again.

Jews, blacks, all the same.

And how about those beaners.

My husband and I had a really good friend in Raleigh who was Jewish. When she found out we were registered Republicans (mid-1980s), she ended the friendship.

Serves you right for having a Jew for a friend.
