Bidding ends today on Limbaugh letter

San Antonio Express, TX

10/18/2007

If you dream of owning a piece of the battle between Rush Limbaugh and Congress over the words “phony soldiers,” the time to act is now.

On Thursday evening, eBay bids were nearing $1 million for a letter that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., sent to San Antonio-based Clear Channel Communications Inc. asking it to reject Limbaugh's comments and to pressure the conservative talk show host into apologizing.

The auction ends at noon today.

The winning bidder will get the letter, a Halliburton briefcase in which the letter has been stored, a thank you note from Limbaugh and a photograph of him with the letter.

Proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, whose board includes Limbaugh. The foundation provides financial assistance to the children of fallen Marines and federal law enforcement officers.

Look for the senate, along with their friends in the MSM, to drop some sort of bombshell this afternoon to distract from the closing of this auction.

Hope the Smithsonian is the top bidder and they put it on permanent display...with A/V background descriptors.

These multi million dollar bidders appear fraudulent to me.

If you check out their history a bogus pattern emerges.
They all have a bunch of low dollar activity in the last 5 days. That activity is for a bunch of commemorative pens and one Nintendo item.

In spite of the prequalification of bidders I think this auction is being spoofed by some DU type(s).

Rush has so completely outmaneuvered the duds in the house/senate that one must seriously contemplate the fact that perhaps we should have some sort of competancy test in order to run for public office. Such a test -if realistic - would eliminate virtually all dhimmicrats and the vast majority of the repulsicans. Rush is a superb example of what our public schools used to turn out. No college, but can easily out argue and outmaneuver any of our so-called elite public “servants”.

Anyone have a quick list of the Dems who did not sign? I noticed that Evan Bayh, Maria Cantwell and Chucky Schumer were not there.

Absolutely amazing. My mom and I were discussing this yesterday. We decided the MSM hasn’t figured out how to spin this yet, so they aren’t reporting on it. This article gives a clue.

They write the article as if Rush wasn’t in charge of the auction, and isn’t donating one red cent. They almost write it as if the Senators or Democrats are responsible for the auction, and as if they are “getting” Rush.

The thing is, it’s backfiring. Those people I know on the fence are getting infuriated by the baldface lying of the MSM.
