Looks like the author is blaming Norquist who was behind Nehring. Norquist is involved in many state policies, unfortunately. He is the architect of the Bush Amnesty.
True but it is shameless that Bush and the Arnold do not raise money for the state GOP to at least keep state senate and assembly seats competitive. The Congressional caucus will almost disappear unless redistricting comes. The Senate races will probably never see anyone defeat Boxer or DiFi unless the Arnold competes against Babs. Di Fi will simply retire and then we can see any Hispanic candidate like Villagorasa winning that seat. It really is gloom and doom here in the Soviet Republic of Ca.
Okay... now I think I get it.
I looked up the author, Raoul Lowery Contreras. He’s an OBL guy. So, no matter that he exposed the twisted actions of the CAGOP in hiring illegal immigrants, the rest of this article tries to portray the Bush and OBL types as the “good government” folks and others as “radical conservatives.” The thing that makes it most confusing is that he puts Nehring in the latter category, which given his past association with Norquist is a bit unbelievable.
Below are past articles about the CA GOP hiring illegals (the first by Contreras)

CA Republican Party has decided no American is qualified to take one of its most crucial positions
“Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger hasnt raised a finger to help the state party run by Ron Nehring.”
Schwarzenegger is to the CA-GOP as Pataki was to the NY-GOP - an organizational disaster.
Same goes for Romney in Massachusetts. By the time he got done with his short four-year term, there were more Green Party candidates on statewide ballots than Republicans. No kidding.
"The Massachusetts Republican Party died last Tuesday. The cause of death: failed leadership. The party is survived by a few leftover legislators and a handful of county officials and grassroots activists who have been ignored for years. Services will be public and a mass exodus of taxpayers will follow. In lieu of flowers, send messages to New Hampshire Republican voters warning them about a certain presidential candidate named Romney." - - Boston Herald, 11/12/2006
Hey Norm...this article has me so confused that I am going to make your beer run for you so I can share.
