Late-Breaking Surge for Thompson
National Review Online ^ | 2 January 2008 | Peter Robinson

The latest news from Iowa? According to Zogby’s latest—and I quote: “Sen. Fred Thompson…has seen a late-breaking surge.” (Rich notes the same poll below.)

What’s going on here? My guess is that there are whole lot of Iowa Republicans who have about the same attitude that David Limbaugh displayed in his column yesterday:

Fred is the only [candidate] I don't have major reservations about….I find his lack of "fire in the belly" refreshing. He strikes me as one of the few presidential candidates since Ronald Reagan whose primary motivation is not personal aggrandizement but rather serving and leading the nation in very troubled and dangerous times. I see him as almost being drafted into this project, and his refusal to drool publicly over the prospect of becoming the most powerful man in the world is positively delightful.

Too late...lol. I was raised down here and still live ‘down here’. On another note, Fox just showed some Iowa Unibomber lookalike saying he was going to caucas for Ron Paul....lol. It is gonna be a looooong day.

Then unless you are in southern Florida you should recognize his drawl and know it will work just fine here.

Coverage started way too early. I finally turned it off. Working from home today and will be glad to wait till late this evening for the results.

I hope you are right. By drawl, I meant the long drawn out way he speaks, not his accent. I will gladly jump on his bandwagon if he wins the nomination. I have already given his campaign money quite a while back. There are just alot of nagging doubts about his ability to stir up more than his morning coffee, but he has obviously stirred up some ardent supporters, so he could pull this off and surprise those of us that worry.

“Wasn’t there at one time a man named Guiliani? Whatever happened to him?”

Yeah, it’s like he got locked in the trunk of someones car or something. Hey, basil, I’m getting an image of the 2nd amendment sistas doing a re-enactment of a good fellas scene with Rudy. :-0

Hey there ya'll.... hope you are all well. And of course I'm a FREDneck, I'm a chick with a functional brain!! LOL

Guess it's pretty obvious by now that I'm also a chick without internet access cause you all spoke to me over a week ago and I don't tend to snub folks that bad. ;-)

Even without internet I am doing my best to spread the Fred-word all over the county when I get a chance. He and Duncan Hunter are the only good choices and Fred's got it hands down over Duncan.

Gotta say, it was great to check in today and see dittos from all of you on this. :-)

Polling may be just noise, but polling is what the presstitutes use for news.

I’m leaning toward Fred because I’m VERY conservative.

I was a FREDneck before FREDnecking was cool. Back when he first ran for senator I told Hubby I wished he would run for president. Yep, I’ve reminded him.

It’s good to “hear” from you again. I’ve missed your advice. :^)
