Seven years ago George bush and the republicans gave a tax cut to the wealthy. We had a recesion and as far as Im concerned we never recovered. I was working as a telemarketeer and my husband was at an assembly plant. In 2001 my husband was laid off after his job was outsourced. Then I lost my job too. My husband now works at Target and I held a job at Burger King. A week ago my job was terminated after buisness wasn't so well. Now were in another recession and Bush wants yet another tax cut? If cutting taxes didn't work before what does he thinks going to happen? I say raise them back up and give tax breaks to the poor and only the poor! We need it more after our jobs went away!
Quit listening to Obama on the subject of economics. Buy a book by Dr. Thomas Sowell and you might just learn the answer to your question.
(Here's a hint: The "wealthy" pay nearly all taxes, and they also are the ones who create jobs.)

Exactly my sentiments. My college age kids who work menial jobs will be getting ‘rebate’ checks from the benevolent gov’t, while I, who am paying for their college, will not see a penny, because my wife and I have the misfortune of making too much. This’rebate’ is just yet another example of the redistribution of wealth from those hard working, smart, or fortunate enough to do well in this country to those who are too lazy, not bright enough, or just unlucky in some way.

The “recession” seven years ago actually was well underway during the last year of the Clinton presidency. My sister was working at a temp placement agency in Los Angeles and placements were clearly drying up during the summer of the election. The MSM just sat on their hands in order to help Gore.
Second, the tax cut which occurred after Bush got elected did not CAUSE the downturn. If we had not already been in a downturn, Congress would not have agreed to a stimulus package.

We are much better off than we were seven years despite all the new taxes imposed on us by the democrats at state level. They obviously worked for us.
I wonder what this genius considers to be "wealthy"? I imagine a yearly gross salary of $50,000.00 a year (like most DUmmies). Please, spare me your "tax cuts for the wealthy" BS. It's the wealthy (the truly wealthy, that is) who actually PAY taxes! BTW, it's also the wealthy who provide employment and create jobs. Have you ever gotten a job from a poor person? I didn't think so.
This is the typical lefty baloney...just wanting everyone to be equally miserable and equally poor. MYOB about other people's money and income and worry about yourself and learn how to perservere and use your brain and find some initiative to get out there and do something instead of whine about what the "rich" are doing and/or getting.
