Why do we hear nothing on the writers strike? No mention of what they are really fighting over, nothing about negotiations, counter offers, nothing? It really shows in my opinion how much the media is Hollywoods pocket. Does anyone else thing this is strange, that there is no reporting on this whatsoever?
Ping.
There was a lot of reporting on it when it first started. Now I think there’s just not much new to report so we don’t hear about it as much.
My understanding is that nothing is happening. No talks, no negotiations, nothing.
H
hard for the talking heads to report without the writers........nothing to read.
As soon as the networks start to lose money, they will hire non-union writers.
Maybe it’s because nobody cares. I know I don’t.
Because what they write is lame and no one cares? Heck there are thousands upon thousands of writers out there who could do their jobs but aren’t “wired in”. It’s hard to feel bad for Hollywood writers.
I think it’s mostly that nobody cares any more. They’re starting to show older reruns of shows that are better than what recent new episodes turned out to be.
Nobody to write about it....writers are on strike?
The problem for the MSM in this strike is it runs contra to the image of liberal Hollywood, and shows the hypocrisy of the liberal Hollywood establishment that loves to preach its own version of ‘morality’ to everyone else but won’t live it. As with all liberals, compassion is wonderful so long as we’re being compassionate with someone else’s money.
Or is it we can’t have “Big Hollywood” be the bad guy?
Its over MONEY! What else is there to know?
Looks pretty much like the strike is a bust, the only thing being worked out right now is how much face the union can save with it’s membership in explaining why everyone’s been out of work for months.
ALL I KNOW....is that I miss Desperate Housewives : )
Because the newsreaders don’t have anyone to write their scripts.
Just wait for the Oscar ceremony to approach & if there is no settlement it’ll be as if the Russians just landed in El Segundo.
If the writers are on strike....who's gonna' write about it?
In reality, the writers are trying to extract more money from a slowly dying industry, that it can keep up with without making drastic cuts elsewhere.
The huge budgets for the run of failed movies can't keep the industry above water for much longer unless some radical changes are made.
I guess we are not hearing anything because there is nothing to read on the tele-prompters. The writers are not writing anything for the morons and dregs on the alphabet channels to read. Therefore we have silence. That could be a good thing.
