It Boils Down To California On Super Tuesday (Stopping McCain)
1/30/08 | Self

Posted on 01/30/2008 5:05:17 AM PST by Nextrush

I'm angry about how things are going, I won't mince my words.

To watch the Establishment shove McCain into us disgusts me.

Lets look at how to win next Tuesday with tactical voting for Romney in key states with Huck being the only option down South.

For starters, Romney is a winner in Massachusetts. He's ahead 20 points in last week's polling, at least. I expect a win for Mitt in Utah, plus polling shows a big Romney lead in Colorado for the caucuses there next Tuesday.

Romney has three states in his bag.

Now he has to get some others. I hope Illinois is one of them, plus Missouri. Missouri is 58 WINNER TAKE ALL DELEGATES.

I think the South is a lost cause with Huck in there now getting organized pro-life support. The state affiliates of National Right To Life want pro-life voters parked with Huck next Tuesday for whatever reason.

That will firmly prevent any Romney chance in those states which either Huckabee or McCain will win.

Down south West Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas and Oklahoma, its a vote for Huckabee to beat McCain in those states.

I expect McCain to win some of them unfortunately.

Now out west Montana looks like a state for Romney to try for.

In the East McCain will sweep New York (101 WINNER TAKE ALL DELEGATES), New Jersey and I'm certain of Connecticut.

Delaware is also a McCain win, along with Arizona, although Mitt will get a substantial vote there from his fellow Mormons.

Alaska is a wild card. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ron Paul do well there. Maybe the vote will mix there to a Huck win.

Minnesota is voting as well and I don't know what to expect there. Maybe Mitt could do something there or in North Dakota. But I suspect McCain wins in both.

That brings us to the big prize. California. 173 delegates.

This is the one state that would give Mitt any bragging rights next Tuesday and so he must win there.

It will take an all out conservative effort with amnesty being a key issue.

Take the gloves off and pound McCain. Hold him to Kennedy-McCain, McCain-Kennedy, etc.

Is Tom McClintock in on Mitt's side?

Right now Ahnold is uncommitted. He may be held back to endorse McCain at the last minute for what its worth.

California is the key to Romney's survival and viability.

If he loses there McCain will have it for sure.

I don’t know how any California Republican could vote for John McCain. Mitt Romney signed English-only in schools and vetoed in-state tuition for illegal immigrants. John McCain tried to push shamnesty. That alone is more than enough reason to vote Romney.

I’m hoping he’s stopped.

It’s a bit frightening that the front runners of BOTH parties did not support the tax cuts.

Hold on to your wallets.

California will go overwhelmingly for McCain. Remember that this is the state whose idea of a conservative is Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I believe this is the beginning of the end of the country I knew...seems like the political establishment now controls both parties, largely through the media.

NAFTA is just the beginning...amnesty is coming, the old republic we knew as the United States will not exist in its current form in a few years. The US will become part of the “region of North America”...

Glad I won’t live to see it.

Romney will do very well in southern Cal where its more conservative. He has Dana Rohrbacker supporting him. California Republian Assembly endorsed Mitt a long time ago.

I put on vise grip pliers and voted for Mitt yesterday, although I predicted that nobody was likely to stop McCain.

Huckabee has zero chance of winning this thing and has emerges as a real life, modern day, stalking horse.

Can you imagine that ticket??
IMO, McCain has no chance at all to defeat any dem, up to and including Ted or Kerry himself.

Basically, unless mitt takes something BIG, as you said, we ar f**ked.

buy guns, ammo and tape all your favorite talk shows ....

Mitt is a silent partner in a company that is affiliated or was bought by Clear channel.

Mitt, FWIW, is the only viable candidate for me.

Not my choice, mind you ... but Duncan never got a hold of anyone.

I don't know how McManiac swings on the Fairness Doctrine, but he hasn't shown any support for anything American except being a hawk.

McCain has spend too much time making friends with the MSM. He is too stupid to realize that he will be savaged by the MSM when he runs against a Dem. He is a fool if he thinks he will get the same treatment when running against Hillary. I never thought it would happen. Next president is Hillary. Thanks John McCain.

Why is the media saying the only McCain can beat Hillary?
Because just the opposite is true.

All these supposed liberals and intendant's who support him will never vote for him in an election against a “D” candidate.

I for one do not want a revenge candidate for a president.
The Dems do one thing correct. When their candidate looses an election, he is done. Why cant rubs do that?

If McCain was elected , he would not appoint conservative judges. It will never happen. He wants to be liked by the media. Good Luck America.

Romney must be stopped. He is the threat to America. You know exactly what you must do to fight McCain. Romney is a phony, he is a Liar and a fraud. We must do all we can to stop this guy.

It's not my fault that the GOP is a bunch of Libs, but it is our responsibility to make sure this guy is not elected to the highest office in the world.

Romney cannot be trusted.

Here’s why I don’t like McCain:
Poking Bush & Conservatives in the eye for his own benefit.
Calling those opposing his so called ‘immigration reform’ plan “racist”.
Ignorant Energy policy and belief in Global Warming,
Continually conceding to liberal criticism of conservative policies by accepting bumper sticker logic.
No depth of understanding on critical issues.
Gang of 14 giving up on prohibiting filibuster of Judicial nominees.
He DOES NOT believe in Judicial restraint.
Handcuffing the military in the execution of their duties.
Naïve foreign policy objectives.
Lack of support for Israel.

California is the key to Romney's survival and viability.

In 1964, it was California's conservatives who put Goldwater over the top for the GOP nomination.

We did it before, and we can do it again.
