Vikings Go On Rampage At Lodge
Presumedly seeking revenge against the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League for calling it quits in the middle of the season, several players with the Jamestown Vikings trashed the historic Vikings Lodge on the corner of Washington and West Fourth Street early Thursday, leaving most of the building in shambles.
Trash and debris were everywhere, especially on the second and third floors where the stench of beer and rotting food was almost overpowering. Bar stools were smashed through doors, and virtually every piece of glass in the building had been shattered, the broken shards unavoidable underfoot.
They were on a drunken rampage, said Greg Moran, a building inspector with the city Department of Development, who was called to the scene once police learned of the destruction. I was absolutely appalled. ... Some of this stuff is probably irreplaceable.

Did they put on the foil?
lol
A clear case of ‘roid rage! :)
They'll forever be remembered for their offense.
I'll bet that was a subtlety few noticed
Old-time hockey.
It’s probably the best they’ve played all season.
Well, at least it wasn’t during the Olympics...
What a bunch of morons these guys are, I saw this report on the News and was disgusted. You should see all the damage, chairs through walls, windows etc....
Clearly a result of the Gangsta Rap "Thug" culture that pervades hockey.
They’re pretty high on their culturals down in Jamestown, with the Chautauqua Institution in the area and the Lucy/Desi Museum among others. I’m not surprised the hockey team didn’t get much of a following, crude behavior notwithstanding.
Morons? Yes. But at least no one lost an eye.
It’s nearly impossible to get Sabres’ tickets in Buffalo...of course there’s been a team in Rochester for years...I wasn’t aware of this league though.
Which is surprising because the Sabres suck!
They had a very good season last year. I will be surprised if they do as well at the gate next year.
Hockey and MLB are so watered down today. They will almost take anyone that is moving. Now they have to go to work instead of play.
My guess is that many of these Mid-Atlantic Hockey League players did have other jobs. It’s a minor league that had no official ties to the NHL. Making the jump from say the now defunct MAHL (or something similar like the Southern Professional Hockey League) is a rare feat indeed.
