I understand an respect the arguments made by people like Rush as to why they can't vote for McCain. Indeed, I have raised the point that the Pubs will more likely fight bad ideas coming from a Democrat president than from McCain. However after much consideration, I have come to the difficult conclusion that in the general election I have no choice but to vote for McCain over either Hillary or Obama. Here are five reasons why...
1. The Jhihadist Threat: McCain understands that Islamic fanaticism is a dire threat to the USA, and is determined to defeat it. Hillary and Obama have never even mentioned the words "Islamic" or "Jihad" in all their debates, but have mentioned "health care" hundreds of times.
2. Judges: Personally I doubt that if McCain does appoint any Supreme Court Justices in the Scalia/Thomas/Alito mold they will every be confimed Harry Reid and the Rat Senators. But I am sure that the judges that Hillary or Obama would appoint will be. A vacancy is better than a left-wing, internationalist on the SCOTUS.
3. Our Military Personel: The men and women who sacrifice so much in service to the country dersrve better than Hillary or Obama as their Commander in Chief. I don't see how I could fail to vote to prevent that and ever honestly claim that I "support the troops". Whatever McCain's failings on domestic issues, I have no doubt that he deeply respects and supports the military.
4. Gun rights: Hillary and Obama both openly express support for a national gun registry, national licensing for handgun owners, "gun safety" regulations (retroactive banning of out of production models), lawsuits against manufacturers, local gun bans, and renewing the AWB. And that's just what they say now. I have no doubt there full agenda goes well beyond that. As far as I know John McCain has been a solidly pro gun rights his whole career.
5. Ummmm........I can't think of another one. Oh well, I guess the first four will have to do.
And furthermore, Mecca delenda est.
More whine, more whine, what we need is more whine
Oh geez, not this stuff again!
Mad John is also a Budget Hawk with a disdain for Pork, he also is much more pro life then Che’Obama or Hilde, Che’ is a backer of partial birth abortion.
Then there are the Gay Marriage issues, he doesn’t favor a Constitutional Amendment, but he also has not expressed the outright support that Che’ or Hilde have.
That said, Global Warming, Amnesty, and Cap and Trade are problems./s
Please understand that Rush has never said any such thing. He has said that McCain is not a conservative. Which he isn't.
Are any of the three Dims (McInsane, Hildabeast, and Osamabama) fit to be President? No. Therefore, I will not be voting for any of them. Just voting for conservatives down ticket. Don’t want a liberal Dim in the White House? Don’t nominate him as the GOP candidate.
That line prove you don't know much! do a search http://cantontruth.blogspot.com/2008/01/gun-owners-of-america-exposes-john.html
Again!! For pete’s sake, either post a source or post it in chat. These vanties are getting old.
What the hell makes you think we need you to direct us how to vote? Enough already. You sound like a damn DemocRAT.
You McCnutt types are not being told how to vote by those who do not see things the way you do. What is it with you guys.
You’re all right & the world’s all wrong?
Rush may not have flatly said he wouldn’t vote for him, but he has said that he thought thought it might be worse to have McCain because Republicans in congress would be “hogtied”, his exact word.
Fear monger...yeah..that will work...
Yes, every couple of years or so I feel compelled to post one. So sue me.
“Oh geez, not this stuff again!”
LOL. Yep. I was wondering with all the flaming that these posts generate, should I get credit for decreasing my carbon footprint if I don’t flame anybody? Somebody oughtta look into that.
But you didn’t need too. We have countless vanities on the subject already out there that you could have just posted your little gem in.
You live in California. If it is undeniable come early November that the dem candidate is going to take California, the only good that can come out of your vote for McCain is to send the message to the republican party that you will vote for the republican candidate no matter what they stand for.
If it is close in California, your vote may actually mean something in terms of McCain getting elected. But it probably won't. Therefore you might want to consider that the only way for your vote to be meaningful is to use it to send a message by voting for a conservative write-in candidate or the Constitution party candidate, etc.
