The Coming Storm (Vanity)

Posted on 02/18/2008 6:14:25 AM PST by tomnbeverly

Many people on this board think we have plenty of time to deal with Obama but I think the Tsuanmi is already approaching critical mass and the wave that breaks may have dire consequences for us all.

Time plays to Obama's hand, he is using standard cult tactics, Like Jim Jones did; A charismatic leader using subtle indoctrination techniques to recruit and enslave the weak minded.

However, The Kool-aid that Obama slings is much more potent...Obama Zombies are becoming a strong force.. simply look at the numbers he has been pulling both in the polling booth and at rallys....

For those unfamiliar it goes something like this:

Obama is all things to all people... Republicans and Democrats his support is hugely broad... He is the best friend of the politically disillusioned... and come on folks who among us has not been disillusioned lately, anyway I submit those numbers are very high...

He is the We The People taking on the establishment... He is the unifying force of good against the divisiveness in Politics...

He has a story of hope and inpiration, he is all things to all people. All he asks is that you imagine a brighter and better future, let a light shine down on you and guide you to vote Obama because you can surly see that he is the last best hope in these troubling times.

and when you question him or his policies:

If you do not agree with his politics you are part of the problem, the establishment, the old guard,. Why can't you see that he is for the good of all mankind? You are the nieve and ignorant, intolerant, Homophobe, racists, regressive, Conservatives.

Some selling points to the moderates and independents, the swing voters:

Simply look at how they treated one of their own Republicans a man that has spent a generation in politics fighting for Conservative causes (Ahem), and yet when he differs slightly from the purity of their religious like fervor over Conservatism, their Nazi like standards of conviction. They become the intolerant and begrudging, resistant to any kind of progressiveness or change, they name call, question age and mental health, they level charges at not only his politics but at his military service, they swiftboat him.

But have no fear because;

Everyone can join with us, We are diversity in action, We embrace the change, we believe in change, we hope for change, we lead the change. Come to us, come to us...

and as in any cult worship once sucked in it takes a really big jolt to get your attention again...

The Best that the Republicans can hope for is that the Democrats Superdelegate fiasco backfires and Obama and Hillary destroy the Democrat party with the potential disenfranchisement of millions...

If that happens and Hillary leads the Fractured Democrats ...

then look for Obama to start an Independent third party run and that should really get things peaked for this coming, sure to be unforgetable, election 2008.

Well there's that, .....and the hope that John McCain will step down as our nominee.

I can always hope.

could be true but I feel a lot of the enthusiasm for Obama is partly an anti-Clinton faction. These same people defended the Clinton’s for eight years and have decided they will not be put in that predicament again.

I’m sure McCain will make short work of Obama, or that wonderful Fred Thompson, in case the convention is thrown into disarray. :^)

In his campaign for president, Ahmadenijad took a populist approach, using the catchy slogan, “It’s possible, and we can do it.”

I believe we are going to have both Obama and the Clintons in the general regardless of what happens. Whoever loses the nomination will run 3rd party. If Obama gets the nomination (most likely scenario), the Clintons will go third party route because they will not accept the outcome. If the Clintons pull it out (and they would have to do so in the smoky backrooms at this point), we have a major splitting of the Democratic party and Bloomberg reportedly will contribute up to $1B of his own money to fund such a campaign (and he'll probably expect to be on the ticket as VP).

Yes, interesting (and scary) times are ahead.

>> Did I win?

Not yet, keep trying. It’s a really nice toaster.

But throw the rest of us a bone and change up the topic. Preachy motivational speeches regarding the three losers running for POTUS are a really overdone genre, know what I mean? Fishing, bowling, computer software, lawnmowing, housepainting — the list of unexplored and potentially more interesting topics is nearly endless.

And some of us out here can’t believe the gullibility of his followers; but then again, you wisely cited the followers of Jim Jones, add Hale Bopp, Lenin, Mao, Manson, and soon one begins to see that no matter how empty the promises are, the followers, like sheep, find themselves captive and often unable to escape.

It is so easy to view the voting record which is the most frightening aspect of this closet muslim socialist.

The Obamination won’t run third party. He’s young enough to challenge Harold Stassen’s stature as a perpetual candidate over the next 30 years.

If Obama gets the Dem nomination the GOP is pretty much dead. That’s why I’m very tempted to change my part registration to Dem for the PA primaries and vote for Clintoon.
