Two Views of Terrorism and Its Current Causes

Both of these articles are from Australia. The first article states “Aggressive policing turns Muslims to terrorism.”

A study from the Global Terrorism Research Centre at Monash University suggests that Australia’s approach to stopping terrorism might actually be encouraging it.

Waleed Aly from the centre says the aggressive police approach is alienating young Muslim men, who may be more likely to turn to radical groups as a result.

He says a community-based approach may be more effective than a hardline approach.

“The problem is that as we repeat that [hardline] approach, what we actually end up doing is exacerbating the problem,” he told tonight’s Four Corners program.

“We set in motion drivers that move us towards greater radicalisation.”

He says currently the police are too willing to use aggressive tactics.

“[Police] feel ‘the more aggressive we can be, the harder we can be, the better’,” he said.

“That is, that it’s better to err on the side of being aggressive than to err on the side of being soft.”

I completely disagree with this position as reality and history does not support it. These radicals response to “soft” tactics has always been more demands and more aggressiveness. Softness is weakness and validation of their “mission from god” mentality in their eyes. Many European cities, especially in France, tried “soft” “community based approach” tactics and now have 750+ “Sensitive Urban Zones” (ZONES URBAINES SENSIBLES) which the French Police will not enter and have effectively given up control over. Soft approaches to terrorism lead to more terrorism as Spain has found out. Surrender is not “peace”.

The second article deals with the “next generation” of terrorist/Islamofascist/Islamic Holy Warrior. From the Article “Latest terrorists are ‘looking for thrills’”.

THE third wave of terrorism facing the world is a leaderless mishmash of young and bored terrorist wannabees, according to a leading US expert.

Former CIA officer and now author Marc Sageman says that the latest jihadis taking up the global call for action more closely resemble criminal gang members than religious fanatics.

Dr Sageman who has just published his second book on terrorism networks, Leaderless Jihad: Terrorist Networks in the Twenty First Century, said they were typically young men looking for action, and wanting to copy their heroes, who include Osama bin Laden.

“It is more about hero-worship than about religion,” said Dr Sageman.

“It’s about youth culture … about being cool - jihadi cool.”

Dr Sageman is a medical doctor and a forensic psychiatrist who, after a tour as a flight surgeon in the US navy, joined the Central Intelligence Agency in 1984.

He spent a year on the Afghanistan Task Force then went to Islamabad from 1987 to 1989, where he ran US programs with the Afghan mujaheddin. Since 1994, he has been in the private practice of forensic and clinical psychiatry evaluating the behaviours of hundreds of murderers.

After the September 11 attacks, Dr Sageman started collecting biographical material on about 400 al-Qa’ida terrorists to test the validity of the conventional wisdom on terrorism.

His research was published in his first book, Understanding Terror Networks.

He has testified before the 9/11 Commission and is now a consultant to various government agencies on terrorism.

His latest book is the result of two years spent travelling the world collecting information about terrorists.

Dr Sageman said the third wave of terrorists were unlike anything we have seen before.

They have little or nothing to do with al-Qa’ida, they don’t read the Koran and are not particularly religious. But they are enraged by the Iraq war.

“They are looking for glory … thrills, and a sense of belonging to a group,” he said in a recent presentation.

“There is a thrill and excitement attached to belonging to the vanguard of a violent social movement that is irresistible.”

Dr Sageman said the best thing to do to combat them was to take the glory out of terrorism. He has called for politicians to resist grandstanding about the war on terror. He also advised to stop indulging terrorists’ passion for glory by immortalising them on wanted posters and putting bounties on their heads.

I agree that more of what we are seeing in Afghanistan is “drug lord” terrorist style ‘leadership’ in AQ as many of the “old guard” Taliban and AQ are no longer living. However, I do note that in Islamic lands, their schools, television, and ‘pop culture’ and music controlled/allowed/encouraged (depending on the source nation) by their Imams does not support this thesis in the long run. However, like the Barbary Coast Pirates, much of AQ may fall to internal struggles against the greedy religious hardliners and greedy criminals.

It really would be nice if they both lose.

It works for me. We should also stop trying to arrest rapists, robbers, murderers, and other criminals. Trying to arrest them only encourages innocent people to commit crimes.

Morons. Elitist morons.

That ain't it. It's the msm that glorify and support them ala McGirk's little Thanksgiving lovefest with the taliban; al-reuters,A$$ Pain and the NY Slimes who would rather publish classified information on their front pages than than speak disparigingly of a 7th century barbarian that murders over cartoons and and wipes his butt with his left hand...or was it the right.

Give us 6 months of headlines like

"Stone age satan worshippers slaughter 120 innocents as they "protest" the funny papers. Toilet paper shunned as "modern".

Waleed Aly - he's a muzzie, what else is he going to say? He can't come straight out and say 'stop investigating the activities of our youth - or you'll be sorry' ...can he? But that what he means.

I saw a group of muslim youths, about 16 yo, interviewed. Complaining. They feel isolated and shunned...as if they should be ashamed of being muslims.

Ugly bunch of little pr*cks they were. Full of hatred. Full of islam shiite. Aussies are watching and taking notice. It's good they are speaking out, at least we can see the hatred on their faces...in prime time. Lebanese, mostly. They would love to create 'palestine' in Oz.

Hi, Sunk, I need help right now.

My doberman brought me a baby cottontail this morning, cold and wet, and it ‘died’ but now it’s fighting to stay alive, who are our vets here?

We could bend over backwards, they will not fit in whilst their imams tell them this:

http://www.missionislam.com/knowledge/preserveident.htm

excerpt...read it all, it’s an interesting journey into how they think:

Education

The education system is typically where the indoctrination process begins. Muslim school children are sent off by their parents to Kafir schools with good intentions of an education and a chance at a better life (in this world, at least). The children are placed in an environment where the mixing of sexes is not only tolerated but encouraged through the placement of children in multi-gender sporting teams and class groups. These children grow up to believe such behaviour is normal. This leads, in most cases, to the m passing off the Islamic requirement of segregated sexes as ‘old fashioned’ or ‘backward’. After years in an environment as free as this, it is no surprise that we see so many young Muslims with ‘boyfriends’, and ‘girlfriends’.

A major component of the education system is to turn the students into ‘good Australians’. To be a good Australian means to obey the laws of the land even if they conflict with the laws of Allah. We see this from the earliest stages of the child’s education in the form of flag-raising ceremonies each morning in which the children sing the national anthem and stand in respect as the flag of the non-Muslims is raised over their heads.

In later stages, the indoctrination becomes more advanced through subjects such as politics and legal studies. In these studies, the ‘benefits’ of western-style democracy and the Westminster system of government are taught. The children are taught that Shirk is the best form of government. They are taught that being a “good citizen” is about voting and participation in this Shirk-based system. By the time the child passes through the digestive tract of the Kaffir educational system, he or she will probably see him/herself as an Australian first and a Muslim second. The effect on the Islamic identity is that it is replaced with, in best case scenarios, a watered-down Islamic identity, and in the extreme case, a total Kaffir identity.

Every subject taught to the Muslim has a hidden agenda - to foster disbelief and moral decline. In Human Education, our children are being taught that being promiscuous is a ‘natural part of growing up’. These enemies of Allah are even equipping our children with contraceptive devices, under our noses, giving them their tacit approval to commit adultery. These same classes teach that homosexuality is something that ‘cannot be helped’ and as such is a perfectly ‘normal’ kind of behaviour.

In History, we see a euro-centric view of the world in which the Christians are viewed as the only people worthy of any respect or any admiration. It is rare that mention is ever made of the great contribution made to the Occidental world from the Orient. It is even rarer that the names of the great Muslim scientists are mentioned. It is no wonder that many Muslim children end up with a sense of shame in being Muslim. This shame is often shown in their refusal to use their ‘Muslim names’, e.g. suddenly Muhammad becomes known as ‘Mike’.

When the Christians (according to their curriculum) have done all the “good things” can you honestly blame them? These seeds of shame planted in the mind of the Muslim child will bear the sour fruits of disbelief in later life and serve to ensure the Islamic identity is destroyed.

Despite Australia’ s claims of being a secular society, the education system places a heavy, though largely invisible, emphasis on Christian beliefs and practices. In the lead up to Christmas it is not extraordinary for even government-run schools to hold nativity plays, or make the students engage in Christmas-based activities, such as making Christmas cards or so forth. This coupled with the fact that the Muslim student is probably a minority in a school full of Kaffirs, serves to pressure the Muslim child into adopting practices that are clearly not from Islam. The Muslim child will see his or her friends exchanging presents at Christmas and may expect the same at home. Often the schools present these Christian practices in such a way that the child may even be unaware that they are acting out the behaviour of the disbelievers. It is important that parents are aware of this and take the necessary steps to prevent it or at least ensure it does not impact the child.

Of course whilst the empirical source of this is the Kuffar and his puppeteer, the Shaytan, we cannot blame them entirely. We must also look to ourselves. Muslim families, having lost much of their Islamic values, have sold out to the West. By sending our children to kindergarten and child care centers we are sending our children to be suckled by the Shaytan. One need only look at the high number of child molestation’ s that occur in these places to see the truth of this. It is out of neglect for our Islamic duties, and a love of dunya , that we neglect our children. Muslim mothers are choosing to work rather than stay home and ensure their children are educated Islamically. The so-called “woman’s liberation movement” has indeed succeeded in “ liberating women” - liberating them from the shackles of responsible parenting. Fathers, drunk on western commercialism, are emphasizing economic and material growth of the family unit over spiritual growth. If these children received the proper Islamic education at home, perhaps the wolves of disbelief would not find them such easy prey.

Proper Islamic education should counter the lies and the corruption fed to the children in school. It should be presented in such a way as to engender a feeling of pride in Islam. Furthermore, it should cover Islamic history to offset the lies taught in History, Islamic law to offset the lies taught in Legal Studies. Parents must take responsibility for arming their students with correct Aqeedah and sound knowledge to defend themselves from these wolves and the decline of the Islamic identity.

if Civ doesn’t get back to you...may I suggest you keep it warm and quiet. It will more than likely be in shock.

In Oz we have Wildlife Carers we can call on. Is there someone like that you may be able to telephone?

I’m not a vet. But be sure the bunny can get water. It’ll die of thirst before it dies of starvation.
