It’s hard for me to believe people are still making Shine. When I was a kid, living in this part of the country, it was a way of life. Then drugs took over.
Me Too
I grew up in Kentucky and there was always some Uncle or another breaking out a Mason Jar full of clear white homemade hooch, at family functions. Only tasted it once...yikes!
The only thing they cook in the woods around here is meth. :>(

The local law busted a still in Benton County, Arkansas not long ago. It was so rare to find one the law was unsure how to destroy it. They knew more about getting rid of meth labs than stills.
Here in South Jersey we drink “shine”. My motorcycle club has it at all our functions. One of the boys is a tin knocker and he made a beauty of a still out of stainless steel for my brother, “Cheeze”. “Cheeze” makes the finest “Apple Pie Shine” you ever tasted. It goes down as smooth as can be but sneaks up on you later. I have tried other shine from down south that we get on the way to Bike Week but most of it is better used to take the rust off your bike. Now Kentucky shine is the absolute best. Cheeze gets all his recipe’s from some Kentucky boys when we go to Daytona and he won’t give them up for women or money.
Good point,
Now an interesting question for ya,
Which do you think was safer for the consumer, Drugs or shine?
Also which kind of drugs?
Pot or speed or crack or what?
Last few days I’ve been in Live Oak, Lake City area or Florida and South Georgia thinking of buying some land.Just wondering what the potential problems may be there?
