Kids today don’t have many of the opportunities we had.
In the late 50’s there were labor shortages and we worked in construction, retail, landscaping etc in the summer..and some evenings. When I look at my SS statement, I can see that I was earning a lot of money, beyond minimum wage, when I was in HS. A lot of kids paid for their college tuition just with their summer work..especially boys who worked construction.
