Considering the enormous amount of capital investment required, the prolonged estimated time for delivery, and throw in the fact that congress doesn’t want the oil companies to make a profit,
if the oil companies said ‘No thanks’
I wouldn’t blame them.

Who's more powerful.....the President of the US OR the ECO GEEKS???

Why do I keep hearing that the Environmentalists won't LET us Drill or Refine??

Why are Foreign Leaders STRONGER than THEIR ECO-GEEKS??

Our congress is saving our oil so when the dims get into office and turn our country over to the muslims, the muslims can have the oil. Screw Americans is their mantra. I think it's time for true American citizens to take up arms and march to Washington. This is the reason our founders wanted its citizenry to have arms. Time to take this country back.

The evidence so far is that the ECO Geeks are the most powerful...since they have been winning for the last 30 years.

I know its backasswards, but the facts are the facts. Until "We The People" decide that enough is enough and change the congress via the ballot box.....or by some other extraordinary way, we are stuck.

Elections have consequences.....and if the same old turds are elected time after time, can we expect anything different?

Sounds like a need for slightly more beat-downs than we originally thought. We'd better get started.

President Bush should immediately declare a national security emergency issuing permits to proceed at once with drilling in ANWAR and any over-the-horizon coastal location with proven economic resources. The oil wouldn’t start flowing for a few years but I bet it would have an immediate impact on current world oil prices.

That makes too much sense. Considering the position we are now in, one must conclude that they don't care or worse.

I think they behead their eco-geeks in Saudi Arabia. After filling my tank today, I say we adopt a similar plan.

...that same, lame cartoon. Of course, I wouldn’t want the truth to get in the way of Scott Adams’ uninformed cartoon.

The smugness, and ignorance, of that cartoon is truly depressing. The whole "fungible" argument seen over and over here on FR, apparently from so many "globally free market" enlightened individuals is absurd. It only represents the myopic, "what I pay", side of the issue; when in fact when oil is pumped from your own land you glean the siphon of profit, or leverage, which ownership results in. And that is true for any amount of oil you pump above that which had been previously. Just the same as any product you make, or idea you generate.

This is the terrible stupidity, or more likely, treachery, of the "globalist" argument. One doesn't just sellout, invoking the pseudo-intellectual "fungible" argument, when one does have the internal resources which can be leveraged.

Unfortunately it does extend beyond simple stupidity. Jay Rockefeller, George Soros, Ted Turner, Dianne Feinstein, Teddy Kennedy, Marc Rich, the CFR, etc., in the position that they are, couldn't care less whether the United States citizen is soldout to others, thus drifting into the world of pure greed or ego (altho I think in GWB's case its just plain stupidity). Henry Ford warned about this very thing.

The illegal immigration thing (amnesty) is an explicit example of this arrogance, and is psycho-politically the same complex as denial to drill. I think likewise AGW. Stupidity, Guilt, or just plain Evil.

Not quite there yet...

We ARE getting close however!

“Is that a reall Dilbert strip? If so...I just gained a HUGE new respect for Scott Adams?”

Why? Adams is just another misinformed cartoonist. LMAO

But even though I posted the facts to “rednesss”, he/she continues to post that inaccurate cartoon.

Just because a particular gasoline company (Shell for instance) doesn’t import “Persian Oil” does not mean that “Persian Oil” was not used to produce the gasoline dispensed at their stations’ pumps. You might want to check out the following link for some additional education about how gasoline gets from the oil fields, through the distilleries, and ultimately to the pumps.

Wow.

I cannot even begin to dissect the layers of wrong in this statement.

“Losing these airlines likely will boost plane-ticket prices, which already have climbed alongside fuel bills.”

Which is exactly what the greenies want. Less energy but more expensive energy so we will use less.

Let me know when it’s time to gather for this march. More importantly, please let me know when the shooting starts.
