You're basically right, Dio, but you're also overlooking something. That is, the term nationalism has a different meaning to Americans (or Canadians) than it does to people in Eastern Europe.

The point is that the KLA were a nationalist force, not an Islamist force of Mujahideens, seeking to implement the rule of Islam. They fought for Albanian rule.
