JERUSALEM -- An Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites looks "unavoidable" given the apparent failure of sanctions to deny Tehran technology with bomb-making potential, one of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's deputies said on Friday.
"If Iran continues with its programme for developing nuclear weapons, we will attack it. The sanctions are ineffective," Transport Minister Shaul Mofaz told the mass-circulation Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.
"Attacking Iran, in order to stop its nuclear plans, will be unavoidable," said the former army chief who has also been defence minister...
Let’s add “inevitable”...it’s been building since Jimmah and the hostage crisis.
He has said this before. There is really nothing new in the article.
big words. but not very realistic. israel would think twice to attack iran on their own that´s for shure.
Today would be
good.
Israel doesn’t have to attack all of Iran’s nuclear facilities. Only one needs to be taken out to reveal Iran’s true plans. We sold, with the approval of Congress, bunker busters to Israel. All they have to do is destroy Iran’s nuclear power plant.
Without a nuclear power plant, Iran has no reason to continue pursuing uranium enrichment unless they want to build a nuclear weapon. It’s as simple as that. It would be positive proof of Iran’s intentions.
Israel will destroy the power plant before fuel load to avoid dispersing radiation.
You don't think the US is behind the scenes? Please. They're going to attack, take out their arsenal, and they'll be successful..because they have to be.
How stupid are you?
Isreal has gone it alone before, and with great success...
So the words ARE realistic. retard
Maybe we have been dumb enough not to proceed with development of a bunker buster nuc and a neutron bomb,,but Israel is not.
They realize that they need to ability to hit hardened targets and neutralize a large area.
Another cheap solution would be to drop a really dirty bomb on Iran’s sights..making them hot for centuries.
Definite words. Israel has destroyed Saddam’s reactor, Syrias nuke facility and will destroy Iran’s nuclear plants. Mofaz permits no interpretation. The Israelis can and will pull this off quicker than Steyr can sell precision rifles to Iran.
It used to say "No personal attacks" on the posting page, but it doesn't any more.
I guess you're only violating the rules of civil discussion, not the rules of the forum.
You don’t think the US is behind the scenes? Please. They’re going to attack, take out their arsenal, and they’ll be successful..because they have to be.
Unfortunately, that little reminder is no longer on the posting page.
I don't know if it ever stopped anyone, but not having it certainly won't stop anyone.
While a strike against Iran might be a good idea, I don’t really see how Israel could pull it off.
First of all, how many refuelings will the have to make in order for the planes to make a round trip? How will this affect their ordnance carrying capacity? How many round trips will they have to make to hit all the key sites? And, most of all, how will they make it across the air space of at least 3 different countries without being knocked down out of the sky?
What others are saying is we all get emotional sometimes but please refrain from four letter words and such when making a point no matter how angry you are. We try to keep our discussions above the level of our democratic counterparts.
What would Israel have to lose? The world already hates them, the UN stifles them at every turn. I say bomb the savages and work with their younger population who from all accounts are eager to step out from under the rule of the Mooslahs......
You've touched on a good point here. From everything I hear young Iranians would love to be free from the Mullahs and be more like the West.
So if you can cut off then head of the snake without making enemies with the rest of the Iranians it could work. You gotta watch out for a retaliatory strike though.
