My view is that enforcing the 15th amendment would have been enough. The 1964 act opened a can of worms that one day will probably destroy us.

They tout the CRA 0f 1964 and then turn around and blame liberal Dem policies that stem directly from that same act they tout just one line above.

If you like paying $4 per gallon for gasoline now and probably $6 per gallon for heating oil this winter - thank the 'rats - they're the ones who in the name of saving the critters and fighting the global warming hoax have opposed domestic oil drilling for thirty years to the point that now, while we still won't drill in our own plentious reserves, we think we can beg or sue others into providing us with more fuel......and on and on and on......

The Civil Rights Bill was passed by a bipartisan majority that had to overcome opposition from mostly southern DEMOCRATS. One of those Democrats, Robert Byrd, is still serving in the Senate. He personally filibustered the Civil Rights Bill for over 14 hours straight as part of 57 day effort. Ironically enough Senator Byrd can serve in the Senate despite having been associated with a social organization that would make him ineligible for military service, the KKK.
On the whole Republicans voted for the act in greater percentages in both congressional bodies than their Democratic counterparts.
Is a fair wage one that is below minimum wage? If so, then illegal immigrants are paid a "fair wage" and their continued employment goes largely to Democrats. Which party overwhelmingly runs the major metropolitan areas of this country? Which party regularly supports "safe harbor" of illegal immigrants?
They say we need immigrant labor that is willing to work below a fair wage because "Americans won't do the work anymore". They will if they are paid a FAIR WAGE for the task.
