The consequences of a military attack on Iran to thwart its nuclear intentions could have a devastating economic impact.
NBC News chief foreign correspondent Richard Engel warned on the July 1 NBC Nightly News an attack by Israel could send oil prices soaring sending gas prices into territories never imagined.

No...it obviously would go to ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
Or maybe a bajillion.
I doubt they care. Their boys think we should be paying more anyway.
Prices like that would send us into a depression.
Last night the one reporter for NBC was shilling for Iran, it was pathetic.
Yes, its possible for oil to TEMPORARILY rise to $300-$400 per barrel is the Strait’s safety is compromised.
But i love the left. They interpret this as a reason not to threaten/invade Iran. Its okay for Iran to get nukes and destroy Israel as well as probably launch on other Euro cities. And develop possible nukes to drop on the USA.
But wait! Wouldn’t $300-$400 prices cause a reduction in oil consumption, lessening our carbon footprint?
Yes, the Dems love Iran and their insane plans!
Traitors to a man (as well as lesbian).
The media is far more guilty than any speculator. There is a point where oil will not sell and that price is probably well beyond it. But just in case, what do horse and buggies run these days? hehe
bullcrap.
We wouldn’t even be worrying about it if Clinton had not vetoed the energy bill sent to him by the Republicans in 95. Thanks, Bill Clinton and now the RATS in congress are carrying on his legacy.
They said the same thing would happen if we attacked Saddam in Gulf War 1 and he would light the Kuwaiti oil fields on fire. We did, he did, but it didn’t.
Not if we go in and take their oil. These sand rats think they control everything. We should block all imports and exports from that country and bring them to their knees.
Exactly.
My money is still on the US Navy keeping Hormuz clear of Iranian bathtubs.
They said essentially the same last nite on Fox.
Boy, it sure would be nice if we could pump for oil from Alaska or the Outer Continental Shelf or someplace...
Worse than that. The food chain would collapse and many people would go hungry. 1% or 2% of our population feeds the rest only because modern agriculture depends on abundant oil for all phases of production and delivery. Fertilizer, fuel for farm equipment, transport, processing, you name it. Accusing that only "rich" people can eat, hungry masses of people in the cities will go on a rampage. Think of New Orleans magnified. If the cities erupted, where would you go (and how would you get there), what would you eat? Start planning your survival now.
