A Clintonian at Fox
New York Times ^ | 07/08/2008 | Jim Rutenberg

Posted on 07/08/2008 5:17:22 AM PDT by safetysign

Howard Wolfson, who was a top strategist for the presidential campaign of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, is going where some Democrats were unwilling to go during the early days of the election season: the Fox News Channel.

The network is expected to announce as early as Tuesday that it has signed Mr. Wolfson as a contributor who will appear regularly on its programs.

Mr. Wolfson is joining a network that Democrats shunned for a time, complaining that its coverage was unfair. But aides to Mrs. Clinton came to view Fox News as distinctly fair to her in a news media climate that they believed favored Senator Barack Obama.

“I thought that Fox’s coverage during the primary was comprehensive and fair and evenhanded,” Mr. Wolfson said Monday in a telephone interview from Liverpool, England, where he was vacationing. “It’s a huge audience, and it is important to have a strong, progressive voice on the network.”

Mr. Wolfson’s decision to join Fox represents a general feeling among Clinton partisans that the network treated her more fairly than did other networks it viewed as overly friendly to Mr. Obama.

Mr. Wolfson becomes the latest in a succession of political professionals who have signed on with television news networks as regular commentators providing insider analysis this election season – the sort of role that was once met with alarm within newsrooms but now hardly raises eyebrows. Mr. Wolfson said he especially relished the chance to take on another Fox News analyst fresh from the political battlefield, the Republican strategist Karl Rove.

10 years ago, anything “Clintonian” at FreeRepublic would have continued to impact individual and national health. Big time.

Additionally, I would bet that many here would now vote FOX a liberal news network. Easily.

Too bad. FNC used to be about the only watchable news media outlet for conservatives.

But that’s gone away. No big loss, I don’t watch any news shows anyway.

When he comes on, I’ll change the channel. FOX is not much different than CNN these days.

The NYT just never quits:

~snip~
But he will certainly forward its message on the network, which appeals to more conservative, independent, white voters Mr. Obama is trying to court.
~snip~

White voters. But are they typical?

Lanny Davis is now called “a FOX contributor” when he makes one of his 500 appearances a week. Everytime he comes on, all I can think of is Elvis with a weapon and a supply of TVs to be shot at.

This Clinton weasel is also on the payroll at FOX.

The only reason Fox news is ahead is because its the least liberal.

However, do not mistaken it and think that they are fair and balanced. They still lean to the left. Just not as heavy as CNN, MSNBC, and the old dinosaurs.

“It’s a huge audience, and it is important to have a strong, progressive voice on the network.”

It a huge audience soon to be dwindeling because it's gives face time to idiots like "progessive" Wolfson...

Fox, let me remind you that "fair and balance" doesn't mean promoting wacked out lies and liars just to give credence to the phrase!

Murdoch is now trying to play both sides!

Or it could be that that's what Murdoch has always done with FNC.

In the beginning Alphabet Networks owned the left and ignored Murdoch's oppty filling that gap.

Now the ABCCNNs have shifted to Pro-Obama only, and have left a gap of "non-Obama" coverage.

Since there is no McCain opposition to Obama to cover, the only people with an interesting hatchet to bury are the Clintonoids.

Murdoch's job is to make $$$ TV ads sell, not to provide an echo chamber for a message which is not being spoken.

Howard Wolfson, ... is going ...to ...the Fox News Channel.

EWWWWWWWWWWW! This is an immediate channel change! I can't image why they would want this loser. Their latest choices for "contributors" are the reason I ONLY watch the panel with Brit Hume. It was originally a good alternative to the MSM. Now it has become just an echo of the MSM while trying to be "fair and balanced". This makes it even worse!
