Judge says "It's about time," to Rove Arresters

The four Iowans arrested last Friday for attempting to make a citizen's arrest of Karl Rove

Retired Methodist minister, Chet Guinn, 80, and Des Moines Catholic Workers, Ed Bloomer, 61, Mona Shaw 57, and Kirk Brown, 25, were arrested at a Des Moines country club where Rove was appearing at a Republican Fundraiser.

Shaw was the first called before Polk County Fifth Judicial District Associate Judge William Price.

After entering her plea, the judge asked Shaw, "Mamn, what were you doing at the Wakonda Country Club?"

"I was attempting to make a citizen's arrest of Karl Rove, your honor," Shaw answered.

"Well," the judge looked up and said, "it's about time."

Then the judge called the other three defendants to the bench and accepted their pleas simultaneously.

A jury trial for has been set for August 20, 2008.

Previous reports that the arrest was "pre-arranged" by either the defendants or the Des Moines Police are inaccurate.

A video of the arrest, photos, and more is on the Des Moines Catholic Worker website at http://www.desmoinescatholicworker.org/rovearrestii.html

She will most likely be at the top of the list of Obama appointees.

So it’s come down to this — political opponents are to be subject to “arrest”?

Man I bet these creeps would love to lock Rush Limbaugh away for a long time.

Correction, the judge is a he. The left sees policy differences as criminal acts. If they take complete control, I have no doubt they will attempt to come after the Roves, Limbaughs, Murdochs, and others who they consider enemies of the state.

I saw a juvenile court judge deal with a moslem high school student who threatened a jewish student with death over the internet. The moslem boy was often left alone because his parents kept returning to the middle east for religious pilgrimages. The mother told the judge they were considering returning to the middle east permanently because she was frightened by the boy getting in trouble. Now get this:

The judge proceeded to encourage the mother to stay by telling her there is a lot of bad but also a lot of good about America, and that we will get better after George Bush leaves the White House in 2009!

These judges get more ridiculous as time passes.

The old bat is overly sanctimoniously self-righteous. She should be tarred and feathered and ridden out of town on a rail.

Afterwards I would get darned tough on her.

These people are so consumed with hate. A new President isnt good enough, even if it BHO. They want to destroy our current one. He is virtually untouchable at the moment, so they are going after anyone they can find.

these people are fascists and they are enemies of the USA.

That's the only way to establish the dictatorship of the proletariat. The greedy promoters of capitalism are always scheming and plotting to undermine the workers' paradise. They must be dealt with.

Indeed. Remove them from the premises for the crackpots they are, but "arrest" them??

It’s crap like this that causes people like me to have absolutely no respect for our so-called justice system. It’s nothing but a three ring circus full of clowns with the “lawyers” and “judges” being the biggest clowns of all.

We have a legal system, not a justice system. Justice apparently has nothing to do with it.

Never has an American (aka “conservative”) tried to make a citizen’s arrest of a socialist Senator, financier, or other party member for:

*bankrupting the nation and putting the debt on future Americans.

*Treasonous actions during time of conflict or war.

*Lying to Americans about their intentions for personal or party gain.

*Encouraging racial, ethnic and other barriers between Americans.

*Reversing the freedoms gained by American sacrifices including trying to return us to European subservience.

*Stripping Americans of private property and earnings.

*Promoting crimes against humanity by sanctifying and financing near-term killing of infants, the most vulnerable of Americans.

*Barring and burdening Americans with threats and regulations to annul their right to self-defense.

But, a group of socialists finds the motivation to make a citizen’s arrest of Karl Rove, someone who simply holds different political affiliation than they, for....what?...Being a winner?

I have composed the above list merely to contrast—I don’t suggest anyone, citizen or other, should “arrest” anyone in America for the above. However, I do want people to ponder the situation’s absurdity.

The world turned upside down.

I agree. If this isn’t grounds, then the judicial system in this state is a big sham.

Dorothy Day must be turning in her grave. The Catholic Worker movement has for the most part become a Marxist organization which hides its agenda behind the word Catholic.
