You know, on a Senator salary which is a nice sum of money, I could easily live like he does.

Remember, all Senators have campaign coffers, budgets to run their various offices. So his actual real expenses out of his pocket is probably not a lot compared to his actual income.

Quite frankly, I would be very concerned about a US Senator who has been in office for over thirty years who is only middle class.

I know in theory they are supposed to be citizens statesman, but that went out the window a very long time ago

I was wondering the same thing as I’m looking at his large, beautiful house on TV.

Did you ever notice where you send your credit card payments too? Wilmington, Delaware! Almost all of the big credit card company’s are headquartered there. Why? Big tax right offs and the legal right to take the eyes out of your head with high interest rates and never have to face scrutiny...who’s the senator in Delaware...why the $3000 empty suit himself...Joe “the player” Biden....the credit card company’s love him...if he gets elected he’ll make sure you pay the credit card company’s and you pay the federal government more and more and more....feed the beast...

Joe Biden has been a US Senator since he was 29

Where does his wealth come from? There is your answer right there. First objective of any elected congress person - enrich yourself and set yourself up for life.

1988: The Clintons are two penniless grifters from Arkansas.

2008: After 20 years and no private sector job, they are worth over $100 million in assets and still are grifters.

Fixed your post. Hope you don't mind

>>I really hate class politics<<

Yes, BUT who is so interested in “taking from those who have, and giving to the less fortunate”. The Libs, of course.

Somehow they always manage to exempt themselves from the haves.

It will help stop dead in the tracks the McCain house thing, just as his age stops the age thing.

If you Google Promises to Keep, the first thing you see is the history of AMWAY; you’ve got to flip pages to find his book.

Me, I can’t take my eyes off that weed garden he’s got on his forehead.

I think he published a best-selling autobiography. Here's an excerpt:

Chapter I
I Am Born

Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life, or whether that station will be held by anybody else, these pages must show. To begin my life with the beginning of my life, I record that I was born (as I have been informed and believe) on a Friday, at twelve o’clock at night. It was remarked that the clock began to strike, and I began to cry, simultaneously.

He may have used the Tony Cuelho method - he got either founders’ stock or got IPO stock for being such a nice guy. Cuelho was forced out of office as a compromise not to be indicted, I am morally certain.

"Remember, all Senators have campaign coffers, budgets to run their various offices. So his actual real expenses out of his pocket is probably not a lot compared to his actual income."

That's an excellent point:
our US Rep mentioned on a radio talk show a few days ago that his staff "allowance" is IIRC $1.2 million, which covers among other things trips back home during breaks.

So as you say, actual out of pocket expenses might be quite small - or nonexistent.

When you think about it, I suppose we wouldn't want a job in government to require prior wealth, nor would we want to discourage the bright and ambitious man.

So I guess I don't have a problem with his having accumulated some wealth over 30-some-odd years.

As long as it was done honestly.

Elected democrats are talented grifter/thieves. It is a rare scumbag democrat whose net worth is not an exponetial quantum leap higher when they retire from their bribery career.

The Clintons and the Obamas are classic cases.

Is a senator’s pension public information? I’ll bet that Biden’s senate pension, built up over 36 years, has to be around $6 - 7 miilion dollars. I believe Senator Dole’s was around $5 million dollars when he retired from the senate in 1996, which is probably a good indicator of where Joe stands.

Interesting question..........

One of the media outlets was discussing this topic earlier today and noted he’s not wealthy like a lot of the senators. He doesn’t own or rent a place in DC and tries to be home each night in DE they said.

He has to file a financial statement at times so it should be available somewhere.

It’s clear that picking Biden neutralizes a lot of what Barry was stressing as his differences from John McCain. My question is, was this Obambi’s own mistake, or did someone push him into it? If the latter is true, then who are we talking about, who would be the real leader of the country if McCain manages to blow it?
