Google Wants U.S. to Use 100 Percent Alternative Energy by 2030 Jason Mick (Blog) - September 9, 2008 11:34 AM
Google has already made it clear that it wants to promote alternative energy in a big way as part of its "Don't be evil" philosophy. Its initial round of funding included grants to solar and a high-altitude wind power startup. In its second round, Google granted $10M USD more to a couple of geothermal startups, looking to harness Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) -- which involve injecting water deep into the ground to make steam.
Now Google has outlined a comprehensive plan to accomplish what the U.S. government and private business has thus far been unable to do -- eliminate U.S. dependence on foreign oil and non-renewable energy sources.

I want the US to prosecute treason.
What do you guys want? Let’s make a shopping list.
I would love to see how google plans to run their data centers using alternative energy.
Why they are special!
What an overvalued company.

I choose not to use Google whenever possible.
Google this.
You’ve hit it - they’re SPOILED.
For example, in what other country in the world are people worried about their “carbon footprint”?
Most places, people are worried about providing for their families, or how they can avoid being “disappeared” for crossing the wrong gov’t official.
We’ve got too many spoiled punks (and companies) in this country that don’t have anything “real” to worry about.
“Don’t be evil”. Ok, so can I assume they support McCain-Palin?
Good, let Google finance it!
And AlBore owns how much of Google? Just goes to show that you don’t need 50% of a business in order to control it.
A heart.
Courage.
One of my favorite phrases growing up. I LOVE IT!
They think they’re a company with a lot of money to invest and a lot of strategic partnerships with other companies that have a lot of money to invest.
Heck if it works what’s the problem? If we can transition to alternative sources without increasing cost we should do it. We should always gun for the cheapest (in short and long terms) option on energy. Anybody that remembers the 70s in the Rust Belt or LA or most large cities knows clean energy actually is a nice thing. Then there’s the whole defunding the Saudi princes thing.

I want sharks with frikin LASERS.
I want ALL energy ideas on the table. Not forcing one form of energy out of the way for a politically expedient form of another.
