Pelosi Lashes Out at Bush, McCain Over the Financial Crisis

Sarah Lueck reports on Congress.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi lashed out at President George W. Bush and Republican presidential candidate John McCain, calling the troubled economy a “man-made disaster” and criticizing the president for not explaining more to the American public.

“This morning at the White House and throughout the presidential campaign one thing is clear: George Bush and John McCain have no credibility when it comes to the economy,” Pelosi said at a news conference. “Just the brevity of the president’s statement. We wondered if he was ever going to come out of hiding on this subject. He came out for one minute and said very little.”

Pelosi said Bush should have explained what’s going on with the financial crisis and offered an “an apology to the American people for the situation that we are in.” She also said both Bush and McCain have “no credibility” when it comes to the economy. “How else could John McCain, in the midst of the greatest financial crisis since the Great Depression, tell the American people the fundamentals of our economy are strong?”

I know. However, when they do these “man on the street” interviews and people can’t even identify Dick Cheney you sure as heck know they don’t know jack.

“There’s plenty of blame to go around on this.......she should watch her mouth”

Don’t expect people who are highly partisan to do that. She is trying to keep her Speaker’s job.

Dodd, Haaa!

Countrywide.. Dems are stuck on stupid.

They get ripped off along with all the rest of those who had faith that their gubamint was there to serve the people, not service their bank accounts for personal and political gain.

Hey AARP? How does it feel to be part of a criminal network ? Everyday you support the slugs that ripped this nation to shreds, you are stained as well.

Posturing are we Nancy? Good! America is on to you and all your cohorts. America knows the real story behind your “headlines

Well, no, America is NOT on to them at all, about 50% or so are willing to sell themselves into slavery worshipping this Marxist empty suit.

McCain has a propensity to miss or ignore a barn-sized target and try to shoot flies with a BB gun, damn! Sometimes I wonder.

This is lame. McCain has to link Obama to Fa Mae and Fr Mac through his associations to Johnson and Raines. He HAS to make Obama answer the accusation. McCain can not say Obama is not ready to lead on this issue if the press is hammering the Bush admin. and linking McCain to the crisis. McCain needs to trumpet his attempt at reform back in 2005 when he clearly foresaw this crisis. Obama took millions from principle actors while McCain tried to reform Fa and Fr.

If they had been providing oversight as they were supposed to instead trying to re-re-re-hash pre-war intelligence or responsibility for the (non) outing of Valerie Plame they MIGHT have been able to change some of the policies that led to this situation. On the other hand, they have been trying to “talk down” the economy for the last 4 years so maybe they have succeeded. Things may be a mess but does anyone in the Democrat Party have a solution? Not hardly, They don't care about a solution because misery is what they desire... so they can push more promises of a utopia they know they can never provide.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

Most of the people HERE know it. The majority of American’s take whatever the MSM spoon feeds them and right now they are being spoon fed that this is Bush and the Republican’s fault.

If this notion is not countered soon by either Bush or the McCain camp, the damage might be irreversible.

Power first and then the paybacks and plundering and then the people’s best interests.

The Dems priorities

“fraud and mismanagement” in the industry”, Nancy Pelosi (D)

It is not surprising that a Big government Liberal Democrat overlooks the greater fraud and mismanagement in the GOVERNMENT, primarily, the Congress. The Congress passes laws, create bureaucracies and issues regulations that require private financial institutions to implement social policy and suffer the inevitable financial consequences.

McCain is too nice to begin with and he doesn’t want
to alienate his “friends”, he’ll have to deal with
after he becomes president.

He is really naive to think they will be his friends
and work with him for the good of the country.

We have seen the lack of dhim cooperation in
the past. In fact they not only lack cooperation
they live to undermine our very existence.

I agree. The Dems don't have a clue, let alone a solution. They have always been long on finger-pointing and short on solutions. For reasons I don't understand, the GOP has not made much political gain from the fact that Pelosi is running the show on the legislative side but has done absolutely nothing to pass meaningful legislation. She has also promised the "most ethical Congress" in history, yet refused to remove Rangel from House Ways and Means. The GOP needs to put all of our current problems at the foot of this gas bag and ask why she and her do-nothing Congress haven't addressed the issues.

From what I just heard on Rush McCain did that at the Cedar Rapids townhall meeting.

I’m sure you won’t hear it on any msm news reports.

Liberals are experts at taking what works, breaking it, and then blaming Republicans.

Republicans are experts at responding weakly or not at all.

I know this is a futile wish, but just one time before he leaves office I would like to see President Bush come out fighting against democrats who distort history and push their own false versions of every crisis.

He is the one that could push the blame for this financial crash back where it belongs - on the political correctness that democrats forced on the financial community.
The root cause of this whole collapse is congress forcing lenders to reduce loan eligibility requirements in order to increase home purchases by unqualified minorities.

But unless someone speaks up, the democrat version of the cause will be the only one the public hears.

President Bush is the man who should do it.

In the 2000 primaries I saw President Bush show plenty of spunk, and he showed us backbone right after 9/11.
He even showed some life in his ill advised push to give amnesty to illegals.
But for most of his administration he has let the Democrats beat him like a rented mule - just like they are doing now.

He could help save his own legacy and help the republican party win this election if he would wake up and speak out.
