Held my tongue long enough - but I am ANGRY.
I have seen a bazillon Dems paraded in news conferences and interviews over the past 24-30 hours - and I watch Fox.
I've seen Gregg haphazardly by himself this morning, basically somewhat supporting the Dem premise that the Senate Dems and Repubs and the House Dems...Kinda balking on what, if anything, the Repubs in the House thought...
He waltzed back out a few hours with McConnell a few hours later and was a little more gaurded with his poo-pooing of the House, but he *should* have said he misunderstood the position of the house Rs or something...
Geez - are Lindsey Graham and Bunning (who are up for relection in 40 days???), the only ones on our side on the Senate?
But the house - as I type this - I see DeMint on Cavuto and I think he might have been on earlier this morning (?) when I was taking care of my son (wahm here with a full-time business at home and 2 kids under 6, so I miss *some* small exchanges)...but other than that...
WHERE ARE THE HOUSE Rs?? I know they are working, trying to figure something out, but couldn't 2-3 of them carry a new conferfence every 2-3 hours? Where is their news conference? Where is THEIR side of the story?
Why are they publicly fighting to explain their side??
If it's true that 70% of people do not support the bailout as it stands, then come out every hour on the hour and say
WE HAVE HEARD THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, THE GREAT MAJORITY - AT LEAST 70%, WHO DO NOT WANT US TO HAND OVER A BLANK CHECK TO THE SAME PEOPLE WHO GOT US INTO THIS MESS.
FOR THE PAST WEEK, DESPITE MANY INACCURATE ACCOUNTS, THEIR HAS NEVER BEEN A "DONE DEAL," AT LEAST AS FAR AS ALMOST HALF THE HOUSE MEMBERSHIP GOES. THE FULL HOUSE DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS BILL.
WE WANT TO PROTECT YOU, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, WHO WE'VE BEEN ELECTED TO REPRESENT.
NO BLANK CHECKS. NO PORK. NO EAR-MARKS.
WE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE REPUBLICANS WANT ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY AND WE WILL INSURE THAT YOU ARE PROTECTED. YOU, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DESERVE, NO LESS.

They held a news conference and the networks decided not to cover it.

This is why I think we have been complicit in helping the MSM destroy the Republican Party. We have let them set the tone of the debate instead of fighting back.

I called the Capital today about 20 times. I live in Florida. Called Martinez, both Diaz-Balart (Mario is my congressman), Ros-Lehtinen, Blunt, Boehner and Pence. I told them how angry we were out here and how they needed to go on all the cable news channels and defend conservatism. Explain what they are doing for the American people and what the idiot, liberals like Reid, Dodd, Frank, Obama and Pelosi are trying to fund (ACORN) in this bill.
Their office staff said they were getting hit by phone calls left and right and they would be out there. Boehner’s office said he was going on MSNBC in an hour.
I was so angry, I thought I was going to jump through the phone.

They had one about 3:30 today. Hannity broke in and carried about 30 seconds of it, then he decide to not cover it. I went to the tv and went thru every news channel INCLUDING CSPAN and not one network was covering it ...
I wonder if Sean knows Fox didn’t even carry the Republicans press conference? It wasn’t an hour later that they showed the whole circus of Nancy “the clown” and Harry “the undertaker”. I don’t know how much more of this I’m up for!

On the other hand, most Alpha Democrats go into Politics as soon as they can take somebody's hard-earned money and give it to some poor-undeserving slob.

Scream it out the top of your lungs for the next 6-24 hours. Then, say...”oh, we’re so tired...just bring it to a vote on the floor...you get what you need”
then don’t stop the bill, on the vote, vote against...let them hang themselves...
in the meantime, all conservatives over the next 3-6 months save, save, save, save, save...hunker down like crazy; cut spending, stalk up...
Bush already sunk his numbers...he isn’t a fighter for principle or capitalism. He was ok after 9/11, but he doesn’t fight for what he believes otherwise...(and I really hate saying that, but darn it, it’s true...he just rolls over...)
