One of the more tiring duelling refrains of the presidential campaign is that: 1) John McCain was not born in the United States, and cannot, under the Constitution, serve as president, and, 2) Barack Obama says he was born in Hawaii, but cannot show a birth certificate. As tired as the line of reasoning on both fronts may be, it keeps showing up in the reader-comments on postings here in the Swamp. So we're here this morning, a little more than a week from the election of the 44th presient of the United States, to assure readers that both of the candidates for president of the leading parties are Americans. Amazing, but true, the candidates are Americans. McCain was born to American parents, his father serving as a submariner in the U.S. Navy at the Coco Solo base in the Panama Canal Zone when and where young John Sidney McCain III was born. Barack Hussein Obama II -- and yes, he actually has joked that he got his middle name from people who never thought he'd be running for president -- was born in Hawaii, in 1961, and has a birth certificate to show for it. So now, go vote early. For an American. And knock of the citizenship stuff..

BOR tried to have words with William Ayers. This same star was on his shirt.
I am totally PO’ed at Americans for their selfish following of these communists.
They are going to destroy the future of their own kids.
I agree.
I also cannot comprehend why or how the Clinton Machine Politik did not pursue this in the months from January through June 2008. They’d have A LOT to gain by exposing Obama’s alleged fraudulent U.S. citizenship.
It is 1:25 AM for me, so bed time ( am in Taiwan ). I will send you a private post tomm that spells out the law at the time of his birth and what was need to be a “natural born “ citizen if he was born overseas ( turns out he would not qualify )
You know, I wonder if someone could go to a Bill Clinton rally and just ask him. Maybe he could shed some light on the subject.
However, why we should all be dragged through this is beyond me. Someone is just not doing their job.
Hello. Welcome to FR. We decide when we need to move on. We don’t need anew poster to tell us what we should do.

Ooops, posted it to myself first - shows how tired I am :-)
I have read that, and agree that it needs addressed.
Thanks for the conversation.
Bill Clinton, back in the spring, said something to the effect of [paraphrasing]: “If Sen. Obama is contitutionally eligible to be President, then I think he’ll be a great President”. Or words to that effect.
It’s like he knew ‘something’..........
Well, I wish he would share it with us. Bill Clinton should clue us all in on what he knows so there isn’t an information vacuum.
As Americans, we should be truthful and let the chips fall where they may. If he is eligible, fine; if not, withdraw.

I’m sorry but that is absolutely hilarious.
Remember during the primaries Obambi’s passport was looked into online @ the state dept. ? Coincidence ? I think not...
What does the coming “impeach McCain” act have to do with the act “McCain supporter Ashley Todd gets the Obama Mark”, which was just staged?
Look for safety valve here:

What does your child’s birth certificate say for place of birth? What country issued your child’s birth certificate?
What really bothers me is that as far as I can tell, a presidential candidate does not have to show anyone they are a natural born citizen. How can that be?
“Remember during the primaries Obambis passport was looked into online @ the state dept. ?”
That’s why I think this story is going no-where. If Obama’s place of birth was outside the USA I think at least one of the snoopers would have noticed.
You can use a citizenship card, birth certificate or certificate of birth abroad for a passport. But all of them state place of birth.
If Obama really was born in Kenya, he must have used forged proof of citizenship when he applied for his first passport 25 (or whatever years) ago.
That would really be some long term planning, not to mention the risk of getting caught - there are security features in the document as well as the possiblity of validation with the issuing agency.
I thought this was a forum not an echo chamber.
...and he has TV time booked for his Checkers Speech
That is what really bothers me also - that there doesn’t appear to be any kind of process.
