What a shocker. He wasn’t a very old guy, was he? He wrote a lot of articles on the Town Hall blog, I believe.
Here I am missing Tony Snow soooo much and now we lose another fighter for the cause.... just before the election.
Many, many prayers to him and his family.
in prayers,
KFFD
I knew that, thanks, but I meant previously I had not known he had CF.
Very sad—heard he was really sick. I’m going to see Hewitt tonight in Denver along with Prager and Medved. Very sorry about Barnett. Really liked him as one of Hugh’s fill ins.

Dean Barnett (July 13, 1967 - October 27, 2008) was an American conservative columnist and blogger and occasional fill-in host for Hugh Hewitt. He graduated from Harvard University and Boston University Law School.
In 2004, Barnett created SoxBlog, a weblog focused on conservative politics, social issues, golf and the Boston Red Sox. Barnett’s popularity led to a co-blogging roll on Hugh Hewitt’s website and eventually led to a job writing for the Weekly Standard. Barnett was a resident of Massachusetts and was a declared supporter of Mitt Romney at the time of Romney’s run for the Republican nomination. Barnett was Romney’s driver during Romney’s 1994 Senate campaign, about which Barnett wrote in the New York Times.[1] Barnett was known for his thick Bostonian accent (to which some callers reacted by nicknaming him “Chowdah”) when he filled in on Hewitt’s radio show.
Barnett suffered from cystic fibrosis, a fact he openly discussed in numerous blog posts.[2] On October 8, 2008, he was admitted to the hospital with a severe infection to which he finally succumbed on October 27, 2008.[3]
Dean, Tony and Tim. Three classy guys.
Oh wow. Please include me in the ping to a report, if you do one, thanks.
I'll try. I'm going to try to take pictures and I'll take a notepad to take notes. I may be by myself for part of it though. No one to look after the kids and two of them are too young to stay for a long talk so my husband will have to take them home if we can't find a sitter very quickly.
I sent around an article he wrote on Hugh's blog explaining the surge before they had started it. Everyone who read the article thanked me for sending it around because it was so clear, plus our MSM friends were interested in confusing the issue and couldn't be bothered to give such good reporting as Dean had done.
Prayers for his family.
(Some honky, no doubt.)
RIP “CHOWDAH”!
If his is the voice I’m thinking of, a great talent. What a sad day. A young man. Prayers for his family.
Video of him on John Kasich show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmraIhbARTI I had the voice, but didn’t realize he had a beard...
How sad! One less conservative in Massachusetts, and Lord knows we need every single one we can get.
RIP Dean Barnett.
