One of the most cherished freedoms enumerated in the First Amendment is the freedom of the press. Beholden to no one, American journalists, reporters, news anchors and editors are free to investigate controversies and speak truth to power. Individual citizens do not have resources to ask prominent officials questions, verify claims or research important issues but the media do. We rely on the press to deliver news and often assume the reporting is objective.
The mainstream media have failed us. In the past, the press had the courage to report the facts no matter whose reputation was at stake. Once respectable institutions such as The Associated Press, The Washington Post and The New York Times are now masquerading biased opinions as nonpartisan news.
Liberal media bias is often dismissed as a paranoid right-wing myth, despite it being obvious to the general public and journalists. Last week, The Pew Research Center for the People and the Press released the News Interest Index, a survey of 900 registered voters, regarding news coverage and media bias. About 70 percent of voters believed most reporters and journalists want to see Barack Obama win the presidential election, compared to the nine percent who believe they favor John McCain. Pew also found that, Five times more national journalists identify themselves as liberal than conservative. Journalists personal views shape how news is reported to the public, subtly injecting bias into supposedly objective accounts.
While the cover of Rolling Stone gives Obama a halo, Palins picture accompanies the words, Babies, Lies and Scandal on the cover of US Weekly. Obama may ride into the White House on the backs of an adoring press, but they will not share his victory.

The liberal media is biased
well damn!
Bit of a redundancy wouldn’t you say?
“Biased” is not adequate.
Better: “utterly deceitful, fraudulant, malicious, anti-American, prostituting, hateful, narcissistic, socialist, deceiving, non-credible, agenda-driven, etc”
As Rush says: “Giving literary Lewinskys.”
This is posted on WSU student newspaper site, so there is at least one intelligent voice in the higher education system...
We need more of them and the people over at Palestra.net too. Maybe, there is hope for us yet in the media. :-)
our liberal media are the unelected democrats who are fightin the war against God in the name of a socialist goverment.
Best part of the article:
“As voters, we should have full access to information about all candidates and ballot measures. As media consumers, we should not pay for a flawed product we cannot trust. By staying informed through alternative media, writing letters to the editor dissenting the mainstream narrative and refusing to support biased news organizations, we can fully realize what the First Amendment was designed for a free, truthful and honorable press.”
Baby steps for the students of the indoctrination of public education - the title of the article will clash with what they’ve been told...
This is cute.
LOL
Good article. In my lifetime, the MSM has never been more blatantly obvious, and in the tank for a politician. And what is with these newspapers (Anchorage Daily News...AK newspaper..for example) coming out and saying that they, the Anchorage Daily News is supporting Obama? They did that just a couple of days ago. As if all of us Alaskans didn’t already know that ADN and the AK t.v. news outlets were shoving him down our throats.
Since when did a “newspaper” walk into a voting booth and vote? Workers at these newspapers, media, etc., are made up of Americans...and not all of them agree with the bias of their news organizations.
I would encourage everyone to stop giving these MSM papers and media outlets their time and money!! Hit ‘em where it hurts....their $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
“The liberal media is biased”

National Socialist ENEMEDIA sums it up quite well.
We’ve done a lot of harping about FNC lately. Last night Brit and his panel spent a segment on this issue and covered it well. Brit ackbowledged they had been especially hard on the McCain campaign the previous night. Fred Barnes delivered a major mea culpa and actually apologized for some serious accusation which proved to be false. They were in CYA mode but I appreciated it.
