The scum of the f'n earth can vote four times in Philly and Chicago, but the useless slugs in DC sit on their miserable asses and let our military be disenfranchised.

If ever tar and feathers were called for, now's the time.

What a crock of BS is the voting process....illegals and homeless get to vote from park benches but our brave military can’t even cast ballots. What a goat copulation
of an election system....more like turd world fiascos.

This pisses me off. We had this crap in 2000 and Bush or Cheney should have made sure that our troops votes were counted. This is totally unacceptable.

Yet same day voting scours the land, as well as several day voting. The homeless guy can use a bench address, get driven to the polls with his cigs and bottle paid, ACORN and O camp workers can move to states for 30 days to vote in different states, Bruner can sit on 200,000 fraud regs, yet the men who fight for this country have to sue to get counted and worry about ballots on the war front?

I’m not having it.

I’ve always wondered why military bases don’t have polling booths and why they have to go absentee

My son is deployed on the USS Baton right now and has no access to voting. They should be able to cast their ballots online.

Non-military republican absentee ballots are being tossed out by the union postal workers and never make it to the supervisor of elections.

Lawyers are here in Fla to challenge any and all ballots for McCain-Palin.

Who is doing this to our troops?

They’ve been doing this for decades - they block 70% of the military vote every election - when are we going to stop this outrage?

Our legal office here at FOB Falcon, Iraq helped us to vote. I had requested an absentee ballott but it hadn’t arrived by the deadline we were told we would have to vote by. So I voted with one of our write-in ballotts. Being from Texas and a small town, I doubt my vote will be thrown out.

I suspect part of the problem may lie with the military’s mail system. My husband’s absentee ballot arrived here in California, and I sent it to him the very next day via USPS “priority mail” (which means it got to an east coast APO within 2-3 days. When did my husband receive it in Iraq? (By the way, he’s stationed at the largest joint base there.) 15 days AFTER I mailed it. It was in a clearly marked priority mail envelope, too. He voted and mailed it back that very same day ... but who knows if it will make it in time to be counted? I’ve sent care packages to him that have gotten to him in 6-7 days ... yet his absentee ballot sent via priority mail takes twice that long? It was most disappointing........ and for those who want to know why he didn’t brave the lines for the computer to just vote online ... he cares about our local (mayor) and statewide issues (gay marriage, abortion notification) ... as well congressional elections. IT SHOULDN’T BE THIS HARD TO VOTE.

The GOP is worthless, Why they could not see this 6 months ago? This is a slap in the face for our troops.

It's true. The mail "mysteriously" slowed down around August, when most people were requesting absentee ballots from their home jurisdictions.

The GOTV effort was handled well where I am and the voting officials on base made it very clear via e-mail, flyers and other methods that we could get federal provisional ballots from them and mail those in if our absentee ballots were late getting to us. If our local absentee ballots arrived after we'd mailed a federal provisional one, we were instructed to complete that one as well and our home counties would replace the provisional one with the local one.

Many of us did just that.

But there was a lot of chatter about why our absentee ballots seemed to take so long in getting to us. One does get the impression that some entity back home is trying to make it as difficult as possible for us to vote from here.

But we did it anyway. In droves.

We just don't know whether our votes will count...

Yes, the Liberals scream for extra voting booths, no ID, same day registrations, push back against any action against ACORN and do not question illegal donations...but a guy in the desert with a US flag on his shoulder cannot vote?

This is madness.
