Thank you backhoe.

Thank you, for stopping by.

Miss mewzilla? I believe you asked about this- I finally shook off that ennui, and will start documenting this debacle.

Obama's Great Race to Change America

The absolute hallmark of everything The One's team sets out to accomplish is that those selected to do the job have no experience or expertise in the field. They are political hacks and the positions are political payoffs. It's political patronage, a la Chicago, at its best. It's obvious, to me at least, that they have no interest in making the projects they take on work and work well. Rather, they are interested only in getting control of them and making them over in accord with their personal ideas of what they should be.

We are so screwed unless we find a way to activate the very effective term limits, called elections, provided for us by our Founding Fathers. They gave us everything we need to turn this around and put America back on track. But as long as the ruling class in DC can buy the votes of non-producers by taking at gun point the resources of the producers nothing will change.

Somehow we have got to get producers to the polls in 2010 and fire as many members of the House as we can.

Feel the Tolerance & Inclusiveness...

Myself and friend, both in our 70's, stopped at a convenience store Saturday afternoon for beverage.  The store was located about two miles from the center of West Palm Beach, FL.  As we left the store, a group of young black males were outside and they said, "f*ck you motherf*ckers, we in charge now."

We said nothing but simply got in the car and dialed 911.  The police responded, took our names and explanation, confronted the black males, and a verbal confrontation began.  It was over quickly, as the police arrested the ring leader and told the others to leave the area.  The arrested boy continued to shout at us with verbal threats and abusive language.

Advice to Townhall Activists

(Vanity) Suggested Questions for the Town Hall, or, Barack Obama and the Deathly Hollows

Here are a list of calm, reasoned, embarrassing quesations to ask your parasitic whore Congresscritter during your next Town Hall meeting.

Be polite, earnest, and respectful.

1. It was stated in 1965 by Ted Kennedy, in his Immigration and Naturalization Services Act, that "...our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually.... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset....”. How do we have any confidence the predictions for this> bill will be any more accurate?

2. According to Reason magazine, "The House Ways and Means Committee estimated that Medicare would cost only about $ 12 billion by 1990 (a figure that included an allowance for inflation). This was a supposedly "conservative" estimate. But in 1990 Medicare actually cost $107 billion." How can we be sure the current bill won't turn into the same boondoggle (even the Congressional Budget Office is calling B.S. on Obama's numbers.)

3. The current bill pays for abortion on demand. Will it include a freedom-of-conscience provision for hospitals to exempt them from paying for it?

4. If not, how do you expect to make up for the shortfall of doctors and hospitals when they quit?

5. The current bill pays for abortion on demand. Would this bill have forced Sarah Palin to abort her youngest child, Trig?

6. This bill pays for abortion on demand. Will it pay for other elective procedures such as tummy tucks, teeth whitening, botox, and breast implants?

7. This bill pays for abortion on demand. Given the emphasis on cost containment and prevention, will there be mandatory sterilization of patients who present with three or more pregnancies for abortion in a two-year period?

8. Will this bill cover in-vitro fertilization? For how many attempts, and for how long?

9. Will this bill allow patients to consult with their doctors about using different drugs with similar functions to avoid side effects?

10. How often will this bill review accepted medical treatments for unforeseen side effects (Celebrex, Thalidomide)?

11. How will malpractice be handled? Did you make sure the trial lawyers still get to sue everyone?

12. You have spoken extensively about greedy insurance companies. What is the lifetime deductible and the lifetime limit on benefits? Is it per person or per family?

13. Which pre-existing conditions will be covered, and for what period of time? It does not seem fair to exclude the obese (as has been suggested in Great Britain) but to allow (say) diabetics.

14. Will medical marijuana be covered? What FDA group will handle guarantees of purity, safety, and efficacy?

15. What about methadone and other treatments for narcotic addictions?

16. Will this affect intellectual property rights for pharamceuticals?

17. Will medial tourism (say to Mexico or India) be made illegal?

18. Will the plan cover smokers? Will it cover diabetics? What about sexually transmitted diseases? What guidelines will be put in place to reduce the prevalence of these conditions over time, in order to reduce costs?

19. Will AIDS be covered? How about domestic partners of homosexuals?

20. Will burial or cremation be covered?

21. Will Americans be allowed to participate in the same health plan as Federal Goverment employees?

22. Will Americans be allowed to participate in the same health plan as Congress?

23. Will we at least get health care as good as the terrorists in Guantanamo?

24. Will hospitals still be obligated to provide emergency room care for free to all comers?

25. How do we know our health records won't be pawed through like Joe the Plumber's private records? When was the last time a government bureaucrat lost their job over unauthorized snooping into health records?

26. In 2007, the British government LOST the private data on all British families with a child under the age of 16. How can we have the bureaucrat burned at the stake, drawn and quarterd, hung, fed to the lions, and then REALLY hurt who does this to our data -- note I say "when" not "if".

27. What guarantees do we have against our private data being sent to a Third-World country for processing "to save costs"?

28. How will you protect our private data against identity theft?

29. A June study out of the George Washington University Medical Center says that 10% of the ENTIRE cost of Medicare is fraud: and 80% of that is health care providers. Given that this program is even larger, how can we be sure we are not just pouring money into the pocket of some Congressman's brother-in-law?

30. Is mental health covered under this bill? Because you guys are just freaking NUTS !

House Majority Leader Resorts To "Invitation Only" Health Care Meeting

rossACH

At Wednesday's health care forum in Little Rock with Rep. Vic Snyder, Rep. Mike Ross said this to the audience - most of whom were there to show their disapproval with the Obamacare plan:

"I've said this several times but let me see if I can make it a little more clear," Ross said. "I don't represent Speaker (Nancy) Pelosi or President Obama or (House Finance Committee Chairman) Barney Frank."

In order to let you make your own conclusion as to the "truthiness" of Mr. Ross' remarks, I point you to the fact that he voted for the Obama-Pelosi-Frank-backed porkulus and omnibus spending bills in the 111th Congress, the $3.6 trillion budget, as well as the draconian Democrat House rules package which limited Republican ways to debate and amend legislation.

However, he did oppose the cap and tax bill, for which we are grateful.

The Born Identity [Behold: A Fair and Balanced article on Certifigate]

The more I hear about this, the more I start to wonder if maybe the "birthers" might be right. I confess, when all this began I doubted the validity of their claims, but the more people dig into this, the more I begin to say; you know, I would also like to know about the passport, student loans, and other claims. It might be fairly easy to post another fake Birth claim, but I want to hear from all the people from his past who can show proof of exactly what he was all about through the years.

ABC News: A First Hand View of a Raucous Town Hall Meeting

Here's what they don't get:
  • Americans overwhelmingly opposed the bailout - too bad, got it anyway.
  • Americans demanded in huge numbers that the stimulus package be stopped - they DID NOT WANT it - too bad, got it anyway.
  • Americans raised their voices in protest to the cap and trade bill - too bad, got it anyway.
  • Now Americans are screaming from the rooftops STOP THE SOCIALIST HEALTHCARE! - they say too bad, you're getting it anyway.

So now, they they think we have to pay people to protest this treatment? Have they heard even one word the American people have said?

THOUSANDS SHOWED UP for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ Town Hall in Tucson.

The auditorium at Sahuaro High School in Tucson quickly filled its 1500 person capacity, and the 1000 or more seats outside easily filled as well. It is easily possible that 3000-4000 people tried to attend Rep. Giffords’ townhall but could not make it inside. Even though the event started at 6 pm, people started lining up at 2!

It was obvious to anyone in attendance that 2/3 to 3/4 of the people there were against the public option. In fact, when one man who was able to speak into the microphone suggested that we throw all the bums out of Congress, nearly 90% of the people in the auditorium gave him a standing, shouting ovation that lasted nearly two minutes.

News report from KGUN TV9 is here.

Hard liberals

In addition to a fair summary of British conservatism (to be found at the link), Peter Hitchens offers a few concise - and cutting - observations about a bit of the political spectrum I recognize. This by way of a rejoinder to a conversation with Mehdi Hasan about institutional bias at the BBC; Hasan labours under the impression the BBC is a right wing outfit. Bless.

I am excerpting a long quote for the benefit of Canadian Flea-readers. We too know peope who confuse conservatism with the Conservative party or, worse yet, confuse loyalty to party with loyalty to civilization (I would say "loyalty to country" but this is Canada I am talking about).

Mr Hasan seems to think that I have personally invented the conservatism I espouse, and it is a quirky, random collection of views which appear contradictory to him. Let me assure him that I am simply the inheritor and continuer of a tradition much older than I, which is only proper for a conservative. Mr Hasan also, for some reason inaccessible to me, thinks the Conservative Party embodies conservatism, thinks that conservatism consists of support for free markets, or for the Iraq war, or a general liking for the United States. In fact some of these positions are those of classical liberalism, while others are those of 'Neo-Conservatism', a tendency more attractive to disappointed Marxists, in search of a new Utopia, and to ultra-liberal globalists, than to conservatives. Many, if not all, neo-conservatives are cultural and moral and social radicals, and economic ultra-liberals. Some of these positions are common to both these views. None of them is conservative.

He is also, I think, confused by the fact that the BBC, which was generally sympathetic to the Blair government because of its cultural leftism, could never really cope with that government's globalist decision to go to war in Iraq. Sentimental Leftists, whose politics are really a series of displaced religious opinions, often misunderstand, and lag behind, the vanguard of their cause. Only the sharper and smarter ones, the 'hard liberals', recognise that their aims may be served by bombing a few cities. The Tory Party had a parallel problem. Having sold Britain to the EU and being secretly ashamed of it, it now strives to look ultra-patriotic on every possible occasion by banging the drum for war and supporting 'our boys', though it overcame this when we surrendered to the IRA in Northern Ireland, the last actual national conflict in which our armed forces were deployed in British, rather than globalist interests. The neo-conservative liberals, whose reasons for backing these wars are entirely different, thus have an easier time with their backbenchers than do Labour. Sentimental Tory MPs back wars they should oppose. Sentimental Labour MPs oppose wars they ought to support.

Not just bombing cities, either. We have a profound appreciation for marketing. Fair dues about the ex-Marxism, btw; though as part of a Lacanian psychoanalytic tendency I was too hip to have ever been considered reliable.

And we do have a new revolutionary Utopia. It is called the United States of America.

Sing It... Van Jones Cut Nasty Hate-Filled Music Album, Too! (Video)

Unbelievable!
Barack Obama's wacky communist-Truther Green Czar who hated Bush, whitey and capitalism also spent some time in the music studio. While he was director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights Van Jones cut a vile CD against whites, the government, Israel, The Man, oil companies, and everything else American.
Van Jones was even featured in the recording!

** Verum Serum discovered this and has much more on Van Jones the record producer:
Here are a few of the lines from hate-filled anti-white, anti-American, anti-Israeli recording by Van Jones and the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights:

Various Singers-Poets: The American way, manufactuered by these white folks in office. By these rich men here to mock us. The United States is a stolen land led by right-wing, war hungry, oil thirsty. And when it's all said and done they still can't clean their own place because they got people of color playing servant to do that sh*t for them... The true terrorists are made in the US, in this police state... The US is a crack-fiend for oil. And they're ready to rape, kill, assault, rob anybody and everybody...

Bombing babies in the night. Two wrongs don't make a right... The US needs to exit its colonies in Iraq, in the region and finally in Israel.

Van Jones: At this point. The end of the occupation. The right of return of the Palestinian people. These are critical dividing lines in human rights. We have to be here. No American would put up with an Israeli-style occupation of their hometown for 53 days let alone 54 years. US tax dollars are funding violence against people of color inside the US borders and outside the US borders.
