My letter to my U.S. Senators (WRITE THE ENTIRE U.S. SENATE)
JEFFHEAD.COM ^ | Nov 9, 2008 | Jeff Head

Posted on 11/09/2008 8:16:25 AM PST by Jeff Head

I have sent the following letter via eamil and fax to my two Senators from Idaho, Seantor Crapo and Senator-elect Risch. I am also sending it to all of the other 48 US Senators. In my estimation, it is time we informed all of our representatives, from the President on down, who they really work for and what our expectations of them are. In particular, since the US Senate does not have a fillibuster proof majority, it is time that the GOP Senators stood up like patriots and statesmen, instead of the wiley, self-interested politicians so many of them act like, and make a stand for our republic and the fundamental principles upon which it has been founded. I encourage all Americans to write similar letters, urging the GOP senators to take a stand on principle and not allow socialistic, and anti-American legislation to pass, even if it means they have to hold up all legislation through the power of the fillibuster.

TO MY SENATORS:

Idaho U.S. Senators Mike Crapo and Senator-elect Jim Risch
November 8, 2008
CC: ALL US Senators
Washington, DC
RE: Principled Stand on the Issues of the day using the fillibuster

Dear Senators Crapo and Senator-elect Risch,

I am writing this letter to you (to be delivered by email, fax, and the regular mail), to voice my support of the foundational principles that have preserved this nation's liberty, soveriegnty, integrity, prosperity, and peace throughout its history. These principles of sanctity for life, free markets, self-sufficency, national soveriengty, self defense, individual worth and effort, and personal and societal accountability and responsibilty are bedrock principles to the well being of our Republic and society, and they are also under relentless assault from forces both external and internal to our nation.

In that regard, I am urging my own senators, and all senators...and particularly all GOP senators...to stand for these principles throughout the term of the incoming Obama administration, and particularly when coupling that administration with their DNC majorities in the house and the senate.

But particularly in the US Senate.

The democratic majority was unsuccessful in obtaining a fillibuster proof majority in the US Senate and this gives rise to a critical opportunity for the GOP to resist the sure-to-come abject efforts of the President and his majority to further undercut and weaken these critical prinicples, as they have promised to do, and that their party has been assaulting for many years under the false-flag guises of societal justice and equity through wealth redistribution, a woman's right to choose to kill her own unborn child, public safety to infringe second amendment rights, mipsplaced compassion to reward illegal aliens with citezenship, and any other number of carefully crafted marketing messages to advance their agenda in these areas.

In particular, Senators, I am urging everyone I know, realitves, neighbors, friends, and acquaintences, to write similar letters.

Stand on principle Senators...the principles enumerated above, and resist the majority in the Senate who will be seeking any number of legislative efforts to undermine these principles I have spoken of. We will gauge your performance accordingly and will either vote to keep you as stalwart defenders of our Constitutiomnal Republic and the principles upon which is has been founded, or replace you with those who will do so accordingly.

Specifcally, use the power of the fillibuster to force the majority to either set-aside, or significantly compromise on their plans for all of the following:
  1. The Freedom of Choice Act which will re-fund abortion with federal monies and remove almost all restriction to this ghastly procedure.
  2. The proposed nationalization of 401K plans, illiminating them in favor of a federal program tied to the Social Security fund.
  3. Any Comprehensive Immigration legislation providing a path to citezenship for illegals already in this counrty.
  4. The Obama administration's plans for raising taxes, using the fillibuster to get them to make permanent the Bush tax cuts instead.
  5. Any Obama plans to draw down our forces in Iraq or Afghanistan prematurely before our current military leaders feel it would be prudent to do so.
  6. Any effort to further erode or curtail individual rights to firearms, including any effort to reinstate the so-called Assault Weapon Ban.
  7. Any energy legislation that does not provide for rigorous develpopment of our own resources, drilling here and drilling now, and at-home refining of our oil reserves off the coasts, in the oil shales, and in the ANWR.
  8. Any effort to accept signature of the Kyoto Protocol in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
  9. Any effort to accept signature of the United Nations Law of the Sea.
I believe that we cannot, and must not, get into a trap of hoping the worst for our country in order to politically defeat our opposition, as the democrats have done for eight years reagrding President Bush. Such a stance is completely counter productive and destructive to our nation and only leads to worse probllems. So, I personally and sincerely wish the best for and pray for the Obama administration as they take office, that our nation will be well defended and prospered under their leadership.

But when plans are proposed that are contrary to those aims, then it not only becomes important to use reasoned dialog and whatever legal and political recourse available to us to resist such contrary plans, but it also becomes our patriotic and sacred duty to do so.

That duty can be discharrged without rancor and without wishing ill on our nation or our opposition...but it can also be discharged directly, with confidence in the principles upon which we stand, in an unflinching manner, and with faith in God above.

I urge my own senatros, the GOP senators inparticular, and all senators to discharge their duties to our nation and its citizens accordingly because we will also be watching and voting accordingly.

Thank you very much for your time and attention.

Sincerely,

Jeff Head
Emmett, Idaho, USA

You need to add a line that the primary task of the President is to defend US from our ENEMIES, not to use the office to IMPOSE HIS WILL ON US. They have to clamor about this every day.

What a pickle we are in. This bum is gonna start WW3. All the effort to defend Eastern Europe and Zero is getting ready to hand Poland to the Russians on a silver platter.

I have Murray and Cantwell. I write them letters and get a form letter in return: “Thank you for contacting me. As you know, I always value your input but here’s how I am going to do this.” Blah Blah Blah. I’ll keep trying anyway.

No offense, Jeff, but there are some mis-spellings in there. It's a great letter, but I would suggest that anyone who uses it run spell check against it before sending it. I think it just makes the writer look more polished and makes the reader take the message more seriously.

Again, no offense. It's a great letter.

Amen to that! Stand strong and stand tall now...and even if they do try and implement what you suggest.

That would be when appeals to the ballot box began to end and a different type of box was appealed to...God forbid.

But given the volume of gun and ammo sales since Nov 4th (which are skyrocketing all over the country), orthers are putting things away for a rainy day...and the liberla/socialist/marxist elite hate and fear it.

The US Senate has the power, through the fillibuster, to hold up this freight train...if they will stand and do it.

We have to help the learn that it is in their political best interest (as in having a job) to do so.

I urge you to write them anyway and urge everyone you know to do like wise.

They need to know you are out there...and they need to fear you and your ability (as a group of people) to displace them next go around. if enough people write, they will.

...and then write every GOP senator out there.

Use the following US Senate Site:

This is spot on except for one small addition: Plant the seed and food for thought that, under our Constitution, We, the People, should our right to bear arms be infringed upon in any way, have the right to assemble as a citizen militia in efforts to thwart potential tyranny here in our beloved USA.

Let them know of the ground swell of talk already on the street on this subject since the election of this possibly illegal candidate who already has implied legislation to do harm to our welfare.

Do it in no uncertain terms so they get the message.

Lie and fool me once, it's YOUR fault. Lie and fool a second time, it's MY fault.

You can laugh out loud all you want...but I can tell you that Senator Crapo has responded personally to several of my enquiries and comments.

There are others who will do so, and the shear volume, if we will not synically turn away so as to avoid even trying, sends a message of its own.

So, if you are in, please write...if not, then, with all due respect, move aside and do whatever you patriotically feel needs to be done (create a thread or a site about it), and let the rest of us here make this effort anyway.

Thanks. My html editor does not have a spell checker. I will copy and paste the text and then run a speel check on that and then porgram it back into the html.

The point is...we all have to do something and the US Senate holds the key to effective opposition now.

The part about the seond amendment is in this letter. The Seantors and the libs in particular already know why it is there...and they fear it and thus are trying all in their power to infringe it.

IMHO, mentioning it in this letter sends that message.

I'm constantly writing my senators...Levin - Stabenow...and yes, I too get responses. I even sent both those idiots copies of that Rush letter he put up for auction on Ebay asking them to donate to the charity the monies were destined for.......

Levin and Stabenow, guess where that letter you are asking to be sent will end up.........thats why I laugh

Sorry, I may have missed your mentioning of this. I may have been looking for stronger language.

Thanks for clarifying, Jeff.

Jeff,

Do you really think these Senators actually READ all these millions of letters we laboriously write them any more than you will probably be able to read all the replies individually that you get on this thread. They have staff that scans them through a process and digests the YES/NO votes advocated by the majority. Even the “personal” replies we get from their offices are computer generated boozhwah signed with a machine that makes the signature look like it’s real.

A suggestion I read about recently is to get several colorful postcards that draw attention, write on the postcard “Vote NO on Prop.8799 or Vote YES on HR 6558” and send it on. It will likely get more individual attention that ten thousand form letters that are simply sorted anyway and thrown into the old computer hole to be “dealt with” in a way to make the voter think he or she is important to the Congresscritter. Sorry, I’m getting very tired, and somewhat cynical.

There are some who do read many themselves. I know Senator Crapo hads responded to my personally in the past. Most depend on staff.

One thing I know...if enough letters, faxes, calls, etc. come in on a particular topic regarding a particular issue...they listen because they guage their chances for re-election based on such numbers.

e need to flood them with such letters now and throughout the Obama administration so they never forget who butters their bread and who it is they answer to come election time.

I believe we can do it...but it si going to take work. but true liberty has never beenf ree.

So we have to keep after it. After this defeat the time is not for letting down or stepping aside, but for stepping up.
