Mumbai: At least 15 people have been injured in gunfights between two groups in at least three places in Mumbai on Thursday night.
Details are sketchy but it is believed that two gangs fired at each other at outside CST Railway Terminus, Hotel Oberoi and the popular Café Leopold restaurant in Mumbai.
The first shooting took place near the CST police station

But that was the choice of the terrorists. And 9/11 in NYC and DC and PA wasn’t about a long-standing fight between specific religious or cultural groups, it was about a handful of extremists trying to create chaos and instability. Isn’t that what happened in Mumbai two days ago?
I suppose I can see them being miffed that western media is more interested in western targets, but it does stand to reason. It’s not as if everyone in North America was totally unsympathetic to terrorism victims in the past, everywhere in the world. And if western media discussed a major terrorist attack to its western audience in terms with which they’re most familiar, I don’t see why anyone should be that surprised.
But all muslims, correct?

According to a report on CNN an hour or so ago several of these terrorists had British passports and may have been part of the advance team, as having that type of passport would have allowed them to check into the hotels and not be questioned as well as allowing them to get jobs at the hotels in question; the reporter who reported this was in Britain and said if this bears out it will have huge ramifications because it may mean the planning for this came from a British cell.
Oh it was DEFINITELY Deepak Chopra and I was so angry watching it I wanted to throw something at the screen. He said all Obama has to do is make nice with Muslims, appologize for all our nasty deeds and all will be right with the world... he’s a total jerk IMO
The Pakistani/British pipeline is well known with extremists able to move back and forth between the countries.

Maybe the terrorists have backup terrorists watching tv elsewhere for them. I thought there was no power in the immediate area. Would they have walkie talkies or something? Sorry if dumb question.

However, their baby (splashed with blood) was rescued by someone there who escaped. The baby is now with the grandparents. There are also 4 other Americans killed, including the father and 13 year old daughter from Virginia. This info from two stories listed on the following AOL link:

Indian officials suspect the Islamic terrorists in Mumbai may have British links after examining BlackBerry phones they used to monitor news reports.
Key figures in the terrorist gang were equipped with the devices that meant they were able to monitor British news, even when the authorities turned off power.
A senior officer in the country's elite Black Cat commando unit told the Telegraph, the gunmen were able to trawl the internet for information once they lost cable television feeds to the two luxury hotels and office block. The men looked beyond the instant updates of the Indian media to find worldwide reaction to the events in Mumbai.
Their analysis of at least five BlackBerry mobile phones recovered suggested the terrorists had links to England.

David Miliband has suggested he is taking extremely seriously reports that British gunmen may have been involved in the Mumbai attacks, saying that the security services are investigating "intensively" any possible links.
