[. . .]there is nevertheless a sense in Britain that this was nothing to do with us - a horrible event happening in a faraway place. . . .
Those who believe that Islamist terror can be halted by addressing grievances around the world are profoundly mistaken.
[. . .]
Yesterday, Gordon Brown said . . .'Mumbai'. . .had raised 'huge questions' about how the world should address violent extremism.
Wrongly believing that it can use religious fundamentalists to counter terrorist recruitment and that it must at all costs avoid causing offence, it is failing to stop extremists spreading their propaganda, handling their demands with kid gloves and undermining genuine moderates among Britain's Muslims who have been left exposed, vulnerable and abandoned. The reason for such flawed policies is the false analysis on which they are based.
The Government and security establishment refuse to acknowledge that what we are facing is a religious war.
. . .they think that Islamist terrorism is driven by grievances which are basically the fault of the West. . . .you have only to look around the world or at the history of the past four decades and more to see the absurdity and ignorance of this view.
Look at Thailand,. . .currently convulsed by Islamist terrorism in the south with bombings, beheadings and the murder of Buddhists.
Look at the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. Look at the Islamist terrorism in the Philippines.
Look at the attacks variously upon New York, Bali, Istanbul, Jakarta, Sharm el Sheikh, Casablanca, Madrid, London and India. If we don't understand what we are fighting, we cannot defeat it. Mumbai is yet another wake-up call - to a Britain that is still in a trance of denial.

You could substitute “United States” or just about any country in that title and be correct...
She is amazing and I am suprised anyone in the Uk news media lets her post this. Saudi financed attorneys in London will sue anyone saying anything negative about Islam or Mohammed.
The Telegraph used to be very good and has slipped a little. Does anyone know who owns the Telegraph now and who owns the Daily Mail? They are the only papers in the Uk worth reading. I think in the USA it is down to Investors Business Daily.
Welcome. Enjoy the ‘Paki-Chavs’.

The most OBNOXIOUS people in the UK......besides the ‘born and bread chavs’.
Blast from the past - How many people really believe TWA 800 was a center fuel tank explosion....?
We have been in a war much longer than we think —for some time it was simply one-sided, people...
“The Mumbai massacre is a wake-up call...”
...for those anywhere in the world (including the U.S.A.) who don’t understand the nature of the threats against us.
It BETTER be a wake up call to the United States of America, where its citizens have just elected the most anti-military president since Woodrow Wilson. Americans think 9-11 was September 11, 1850 or something. IT is old news to them. They don’t care. They have moved on. It is going to happen here again just as soon as the half and half starts cutting our forces back.

Lets go back to 1968 and the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy
On June 5, 1968, Sirhan Sirhan fired a .22 caliber revolver at Senator Robert Kennedy and the crowd surrounding him in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.
According to Sirhan’s Mother, Mary Sirhan, he killed Kennedy because of his Arab nationalism. She said, “What he did, he did for his country.” Further, Sirhan believed he was deliberately betrayed by Kennedy’s support for Israel in the June 1967 Six-Day War, which had begun exactly one year before the assassination.
It may well be a wake up call but my wager is that the Brits hit the “snooze” buton.
has anyone yet come up with a reason why the police refused to fire, even though they had open shots at the terrorists?
***’Britain’s wake-up call’; ****
I am reminded of what happened to Singapore at the start of WWII. The Japs had landed and were marching south. Singapore was cut off. The BRITISH commander refused to prepare defenses for the city because “he didn’t want to alarm the public.”
Absolutely and the only answer seems to be the ‘human condition’. . .it is scary. If you give this topic more than three minutes of ‘conversation’ with someone; you are in jeopardy of being labeled a ‘bit over the top’. . .I am sure. NO ONE wants to seriously think of what the real risks are. . .much less, how to deal with them.

Read this at Jihad Watch:
The Hindustan Times wrote:
"India is under attack. The very idea of India is under attack ... Playing the headless chicken is no longer an option".
Sent above. . .and below, to FoxNews:
Please, Fox News. . .do not join the 'headless chicken brigade' when analyzing the Mumbai terrorism/massacre!
I’m not going to justify it —not 0.001%— but one tactical thing not really covered by the US press is that the very first attack came at Police HQ, where they killed MANY cops.
They knew sooner or later they would have to battle the cops, so they chose sooner —much sooner. The objective in this was to kill so many cops that they would be shocked an frightened.
Something they succeeded in, unfortunately.
Many have offered the same observation re 'America's wake-up call'; for too many; the alarm no longer rings. . .
IMO, with the Liberals in power in DC, one can almost say with certainty that our enemies are plotting with glee that we will be defenseless in short order. Pelosi and Reid make that a guarantee.
No question, it has happened in Britain; and no question; it has happened here.
